Our dive trip to San Pedro, Belize
My wife and I made a scuba diving trip to San Pedro, Belize. My wife read a bunch of reviews about the resorts on the island and decided on Belizean Shores resort. The resort was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They really made you feel welcome and important and that they really wanted your presence! The rooms were huge and very clean. The location was perfect and the amenities were top notch. We strolled the beaches in both directions, rented the golf carts that were right there at the resort to explore the island, travel to restaurants and take me to the dive shop. We never felt the resort was ever crowded though we were there during high season. One of the best resort experiences we've had in our 40+ years of traveling. Only suggestion I have is to bring your mosquito repellent as that was the only negative.

Family vacation
We were here from Dec 24-31. We had a great experience. The bartender Freddie was amazing. They kept the grounds clean and were always up bright and early to start the process. The food from the sister hotel was great. They will help you make reservations or give you ideas. Sol Cafe across the street was our go to coffee stop. We had a room with an ocean front view. We would definitely come back.

Amazing views
We stayed at 12D and had an unbeatable view of the ocean. Hotel grounds are very clean. Pool and hot tub are very nice. We couldn't use the beach because of the sargassum. We couldn't kayak or paddleboard by the hotel either because of the winds. There are many restaurants close by (10 min by golf cart). Truck stop was one of our favorites. Secret beach and the town are about 20-30 min away. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They accommodated our late check out. Golf cart rentals at the hotel are very expensive. Try to rent them from elsewhere.

Nice stay
Beautiful location. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Booked our dives with Amigos before arriving through them and were picked up at the dock each day. We had an upstairs unit with a queen and two twins. The Queen bed was not very comfortable and the couch chairs lacked cushion support. Our view was amazing though. I did hear the furniture was going to be replaced soon and it needs it. AC was great. Shower did not get quite hot enough for us but was a pleasant warm temperature. I did miss having on site restaurant but there is a a few shops and restaurant very close that were good for lunch and breakfast. Do not forget your bug spray.

Great place to stay on Ambergris Caye for snorkeling and relaxation
We booked at Belizean shores because you can kayak to the reef to snorkel. That was definitely the case; it took 5-10 minutes to get out there using kayaks provided by the resort's outfitting partner, Tuff E Nuff. There are several buoys to tie off at, and from there you can see lots of cool stuff (rays, snapper, jacks, barracudas, spiny lobsters, angel fish, lion fish, and much more). The guys at Tuff E Nuff can give you guidance of where to go and what to do. The resort is a little out of the way, which was nice. You need to be this far north to be able to access the reef by kayak. It is about a 20-25 minute golf cart drive from San Pedro town. We went into town most days for diving, and it was fine. There are restaurants and a well-equipped super market (Palm Supermarket) nearby, as well as some souvenir shops and a cafe. We ate at Big Taste 2, right across the street, and it was nice. We did have one meal at the poolside bar, but mostly went to nearby places that offered similar food at a lower price. We booked a second floor ocean view suite, which was extremely spacious with a small kitchen and a lofted second bedroom for the kids. The porch was nice and a great place to relax overlooking the ocean. The resort does not have a beach per se but we swam off the dock and the water was very nice. You can also take a short walk to the resort next door (Coco beach) and use their beach. The pool is amazing. It is really large with a hot tub and bar in the middle. The pool is clean and warm and our kids had a great time there every day after diving, snorkeling or fishing. Our fishing guide was able to pick us up there no problem, which was very convenient.
