Not recommended
“Last December I visited this place with my family, which they call a boutique hotel. I have no complaints about the hotel itself. However, the service is terrible—slow and bad—and the food is bad as well. When it comes to wine sales, the person in charge demands a cash tip. Overall, it was a very bad experience. I do not recommend it.”

Honest review from a family that recent stayed
We just returned from a week at the BlueBay! I was worried with all the negative reviews but was quite surprised with our trip. Here is my honest review; Pros: -rooms were cleaned daily and ours did not have any musty odor alot of people say they experienced we were in room 6412. -Staff were what made this trip they were all so incredibly helpful going above and beyond with the exception of the Seafood restaurant host who was absolutely rude to us . -The food at the a-la cartes was delicious I preferred those then the buffet -Beautiful nature everywhere, we saw deer, cats, Coatis, different birds and monkeys all around the resort - the beach is nice, you walk one way it leads to the beautiful lagoon you can swim in and the other leads to a boardwalk type where we saw fish and a Mexico sign -Angel at the coffee shop makes the best drinks doing different designs he was great! Cons: - yes it does need updating but I'm not going to complain about the appearance that doesn't effect me any just you do notice wear and tear here and there. - the buffet needs better/more food choices and needs to move the omelette station out of the way. It was very frustrating trying to get breakfast when the lines blend together - me and my daughter did get sick while we stayed here but my husband and other daughter were fine so I don't want to fully blame the hotel this can happen anywhere All and all we had a wonderful trip with good weather and it was nice break from winter. My kids loved the kids club and the entertainment staff well excellent 👌

Ok if you have no other resorts to compare to.
I will keep this short and sweet. The staff are very nice, the grounds well kept. Beyond that the food/drink selection & sitting area around pool are less than to be desired. We actually left and stayed somewhere else after 2 days.

Do not waste your money
Do not pay to stay at this hotel. I have never written a bad review before and have been going to Mexico for 20 years and stayed and many different resorts. When we were checking in someone in line waiting for assistance was talking about how bad resort was unfortunately they were right. This resort is run down which is too bad because beautiful spot. They do not have enough staff in all areas. I did not see one security guard. The lack of security meant if ran into any issues with drunk guests at the bar you are on your own. My friend went to front desk for assistance and did not get any help the first time she asks. If you have open bars you need staff/security to step in and de-escalate situations. There was always a line up outside the buffet with a 15 minute wait to be seated! Once in the buffet very disappointed with lack of food options and just not enough food period. Breakfast had 3 fruit plates for all the guest?! Bottom line is not worth the money. It was obvious they were cutting corners probably due to a lack of money. I hope this resort changes hands in the future and gets more staff in all areas especially security. Also not have a swim up bar means harder to meet other guests during the day. The racoons were everywhere. This place was a miss.

2nd time around & still loved it!
Will be back again. Friendly staff and perfect amount of entertainment! Next time will bring the kids. The lagoon is also nice and only a 7 mins beach walk!
