Poor hygiene led to several weeks in hospital
I was a huge fan of the BH and have been numerous times, sadly it is going downhill. On my 16th trip in 11 years, I had difficulty booking my room, treatments and restaurants before arrival. When I arrived my bed had soiled bedding (blood) and the night team simply refused to help or even give me gloves so I could safely remake the bed. During my two week stay, my room was serviced but not cleaned properly. This was a theme, the resort was just dirty. I enjoyed playing tennis, swimming all the other wellness activities. The new AC in the rooms is a great investment but overall the bedrooms and public rooms are grubby, scruffy, and tired. When I returned home to UK, I had a very upset tummy and was taken into hospital with Salmonella Mississippi, the regional variant of food poisoning for St Lucia. Given I’d stayed for two weeks at BH and didn’t eat at the airport on the way home, it seems more than likely my illness stemmed from the BH especially given the relaxed approach to hygiene. I wrote to the GM and CEO asking for a review of hygiene at the resort. I’ve had no response suggesting they simply could not care less.

Great experience!
Overall, I loved the Bodyholiday and I will definitely return. I traveled with a friend, but I would have felt comfortable doing this as a solo trip. The resort has its own little cove. It’s not a public beach, which is wonderful! The wave sounds in that cove are unbelievable. It was so relaxing to sit on the beach and listen to the waves. More Pros: the massages & facials are wonderful. The living facial was perfect. I love the products I purchased after the facial. The facial mist is my favorite I use it everyday. Do not skip extra spa experiences such as Kendal’s deep tissue & Patricia’s lymph drainage massage at Ayurveda. Trisha S. is a lovely vibe, she has a positive attitude and personality. Hiley had fun stretching classes and he wasn’t pushy. He was concerned about doing the moves correctly and not overdoing it. There were plenty of beach/pool chairs. The food overall was great. I loved the anti inflammatory and immunity shots offered. Cons: there were a few things missing that would put this place over all other places: There should be a sauna and cold/hot plunge pool experience in the spa area. There should be more afternoon tai chi, yoga, and stretching classes, because if you have a morning spa treatment you miss the morning classes. No TVs in rooms, but this wasn’t so bad because it causes everyone to get out in the evenings. For breakfast, I’d prefer a fresh made waffle or pancake to one that’s been sitting out. No one was eating them. The reservation only restaurants were not great. I preferred the cariblue buffet/restaurant for all meals. Overall it was an amazing trip and I can’t wait to go back. It was a great way to start off the new year.

Pampering and exercise in a beautiful setting.
This place ticked all of our boxes: lots of classes, nice massages and specialty treatments, lovely location, superbly trained staff. Be prepared for a long cab ride from the airport unless you want to spring for the helicopter, or take the ferry.

The first of MANY trips to the BodyHoliday!
We spent seven glorious nights at the BodyHoliday at the beginning of February. By day two, we were already planning our return trip! We couldn't have been happier with our experience here. It was a perfect fit for what we look for in a holiday - a mix of health, wellness, beautiful scenery, lovely people, and great food! We did a terrible job of keeping track of names this time around but suffice to say, the service was excellent - from the various restaurants (including an amazing evening up at iTAL) to the beach, to our housekeeper. The daily spa treatments were decadent. The facilities and activities were wonderful. We enjoyed the tennis and pickle ball, yoga the gym (which could be roomier), the morning hikes, the piano bar, and so much more. The fact that as first timers, we were in the minority is a testament to how special this place is. We met so many great people and look forward to seeing many of them again when we come back next year!
