The resort was beautiful with a lot of fun activities and wonderful food. Gamboa was absolutely amazing! He was our personal butler for the trip and would highly recommend him! He went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect and made all of our dinner reservations! It was nice to not have to worry about those things and just enjoy our trip! He even arranged a lot of special surprises for our friends coming in to celebrate their 60th birthday ask for Gamboa if you stay at this awesome resort!

The resort is a lot of fun! Very lively if you are looking for that. If you are looking for a more quiet stay I would suggest booking the Secrets side as you can use the facilities at Breathless. The beach is ok,not the best but the resort made up for it. We found the beef kind of tough. They advertised braised short ribs at the French restaurant but don't think it was short rib. It was tough and no rib bone? Anyway the presentation was great! The staff are too! Special shout out to Aaron at the pool. Very personable and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you Aaron!

Friends Trip
Second trip to Breathless. Food was great, beach was always clean, and Roger(server) at the entertainment pool is a huge asset to Breathless. He was wonderful to our group of 15.

Jan 28, 2026Great Party Vibes, Disappointing Food
I wanted a vacation for me and my friends. We’re between 27–40 years old, and Breathless Riviera Cancun is definitely marketed as a party resort—and it delivers on that front. The entertainment was great and kept everyone engaged from about 12 PM to 1 AM every day. There was always something happening, and the energy was fun, lively, and social. If you’re looking to party, this resort absolutely understands the assignment. Now for the disappointing part: the food. For a 5-star all-inclusive resort in Cancun, I had much higher expectations, but unfortunately, I was sorely mistaken. There were only two good restaurants—the Asian restaurant and the French restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was not good at all, which was especially surprising given that we were in Mexico. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was very lackluster. There wasn’t much variety, it rarely changed, and most of the food lacked flavor. Overall, the quality felt more like what I’d expect at a 3-star resort, not a 5-star one. As for the drinks, they were good overall, but definitely hit or miss depending on the day and which bartender you got. One thing worth noting: we did not book the Xhale rooms since they were more expensive, but after seeing the benefits, they seem worth it. Xhale guests get access to their own dining options, better rooms, and overall better service. Would I go back to this resort? No. I would recommend Breathless Riviera Cancun to people in their early 20s to around 30 who mainly want to party and drink. If you’re a foodie or expect high-quality dining, this is not the place for you. ⸻ If you want, I can make it shorter, snarkier, or more polished-professional depending on the vibe you want 😉

Such a Fun Friend Trip!
We go away to an all inclusive every year with our friend group of 15-20 people. Breathless Riviera Cancún was amazing! Big shout out to Edwin, the best pool server we’ve ever had in the 10 years that we’ve been doing this trip. He made our days amazing as he not only made sure there was a drink in our hands at all times, but he was also fun and friendly. Victor by the pool was also extremely nice and warm and he was very helpful every day getting us chairs. Lidia in the Xhale Club lounge was an amazing bartender and her espresso martinis were fantastic. You really don’t need to get Xhale club because they don’t check and you can go to the Xhale club pool or the secrets premier club bar whenever you want. I’m not sure why we paid extra for it but if it was a selective area it would definitely be worth it. The entertainment team was really good getting volleyball games together and running the ping pong tournament. The DJ in the night club was excellent and it was really fun. Issue with big groups is eating together and annoying that they don’t let your whole group eat together and when you go into the restaurant it’s empty. On Sunday for the football games they set up a huge tv by the pool and had the volume on in all the speakers throughout the resort. Such a fun day. Overall we had a blast and highly recommend it.
