    Under 75? BOOK ELSEWHERE!

    This newly taken over Hyatt property demonstrates multiple, material failures related to guest safety, privacy, habitability, and brand representation. I strongly advise against staying here. During our stay, the resort experienced a complete loss of air conditioning for two consecutive days, in which my room was effected. At that time, documented outdoor temperatures in Cancún were consistently in the high-70s to low-80s °F (approximately 26-28 °C), with elevated humidity, conditions under which functional climate control is a minimum operational requirement, not a discretionary amenity. Under these conditions, the room was not reasonably habitable. Due to no air circulation, rainy conditions, + high humidity, a strong and persistent mold odor became a further compounded health and maintenance concern. The AC conditions were reported promptly and repeatedly, yet no timely or adequate corrective action was taken - the property resolved their general issue with the AC but, my room + many others never regained working AC. Service across the property failed to meet basic hospitality standards. More concerning were serious breaches of guest privacy and security protocols. On the final night of our stay--while the air-conditioning failure remained unresolved--a security staff member seemingly recorded myself and other adult guests in our private swim-out pool without consent in response to a noise complaint. This conduct is intrusive, inappropriate, and inconsistent with accepted hospitality, privacy, and security practices. We reported this during check out and received nothing but "sincere apologies". Additionally, on the first day of our stay, a staff member named Luis entered our locked guest room without knocking or obtaining consent, representing a significant breach of privacy and personal security. Such conduct is unacceptable in any lodging environment, particularly one operating under a premium brand. Policy enforcement throughout the stay was inconsistent and unreasonable. Loud music was played daily beginning at approximately 10:00 a.m., yet guests were reprimanded late at night for minor, subjective noise concerns. At the same time, property safety appeared inadequately managed. I personally observed multiple guest slip-and-fall incidents, including one medical emergency, which appeared to receive limited attention compared to the treatment of a noise complaint. Dining and entertainment offerings did not meet the expectations associated with this brand or price point. Food quality was consistently substandard, and entertainment programming was repetitive and poorly managed. The only consistently acceptable option was the café. The property also exhibited visible signs of deferred maintenance and sanitation concerns, including rodent traps, wildlife on the grounds, mold, poorly maintained walkways, and overall deficiencies. Most notably, the guest experience materially failed to align with the resort's own marketing representations. Breathless Riviera Cancun is advertised as "more than a vacation destination--a vibrant escape where every moment is worthy of celebration," emphasizing energetic music, on-trend entertainment, gourmet dining, and authentic fun. It further promotes an "Unlimited-Luxury" experience with top-shelf cocktails, limitless gourmet dining, 24-hour room service, high-energy events, and an ideal environment for friends trips, bachelorette parties, weddings, and honeymoons. The reality of this stay did not reflect those representations. Guests were repeatedly policed for noise at an adults-only, supposedly high-energy resort, dining and entertainment failed to meet advertised standards, and core amenities--including air conditioning--were not reliably provided. The experience was neither vibrant nor celebratory, and it did not deliver the level of service or atmosphere explicitly marketed. Our group consisted of 33 adult guests, and there was unanimous agreement that the experience failed to meet reasonable expectations or brand standards. No aspect of the stay justified the cost or aligned with the representations made at the time of booking. Management's response--limited to general expressions of apology--was insufficient given the scope and severity of the failures, particularly those involving habitability during heat conditions, privacy violations, safety risks, and material deviations from advertised offerings. Prospective guests should carefully consider alternative accommodations that meet fundamental standards of comfort, safety, professionalism, and transparency. This property does not.

    Top notch service from the second we got out of the car until we left! Clean rooms, good food, and excellent service.

    This was our 2nd time at this resort and we will be back. Lidia in the Xhale club and Edwin and Roger at the pool are amazing! They make you feel like royalty!

    Bad experience

    Unfortunately, my stay was very disappointing. The resort emailed me in advance to say the air conditioning in my room was not working, and it was never properly resolved, making the room uncomfortable. There was no attempt to change my room as it was explained to me that there were no rooms available. This is hard to believe. At least not to capacity during my entire vacation stay. Housekeeping also threw away my dental retainers, which is a costly and serious mistake. No one took accountability or offered a real solution, despite the long-term impact this will have on my dental care. Somehow this became my fault. There was also an incident with another family that made me feel unsafe. While guest behavior isn’t fully within the hotel’s control, it reflects the overall environment. Overall, poor handling of issues, lack of accountability, and an uncomfortable stay. I would not return.

    amazing time thanks to the team

    We had SUCH a fun time here thanks to the activities team and overall customer service. Wilbert and lidia were fantastic bartenders. Everyone on the activities team deserves a shoutout, Pedro, Erik, Ivan, Andres, Manny. Our group also so appreciated the two ladies in the coffee area. They were so sweet and made delicious coffee. Without them, we wouldn’t have had near the experience we did. We vacationed here to celebrate a friends dirty 30 and they made it such an enjoyable time. Definitely stop by your activities area to get fun time in. Also, I know tips are included at all inclusive but we did give them each a tip before we left for going above and beyond for our group. Also shoutout to the arts performers and the Pilates and yoga instructors. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the magic show and the dance show. We looked forward to the workout classes and the gentlemen taking care of the gym were super helpful too!!

    Do not book here

    We travel 3 to 4 times a year and stay in 5 star adult only resorts. I use trip advisor all the time to book and don't normally review if the experience matches the reviews I have read. I struggle to believe that the 5 star reviews I read are made by actual travelers for this resort because this resort is by far the WORST we have ever been to. We are currently staying in a master ocean front swim out and two tropical view swim outs with our adult children 54-23 age group. We booked with the Xhale club thinking it would be similar to the other upgrades within the Hyatt chain of hotels. Breathless is a waste of money and I feel duped and ripped off. The resort doesn't have any control over who is in the Xhale pool making it very crowded and not enough chairs. I spoke with a couple in the pool who told me that they day break into this resort all the time and eat and drink for free .The Xhale lounge is something you would find in a 2 star Super 8 lobby and there is very very limited evening spots to lounge and hang out. If it rains there is nowhere to hang out but your room. The resort is very loud at all hours and attracts a style of guests who puke off balconies onto your swim out patio. Scream in hallways and in front of your room on the beach at 2 am every night and get so drunk and belligerent that they fight and puke in the main pool which shuts the whole pool down for the day. Guests seem over served at the bars and the resort seems understaffed to deal with the chaos. The swim outs are not heated and too cold to swim in and the beach is awful. The good things about this resort can be found in every other resort, do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. It has been a wild week and I have never seen anything like it. We have two more days and I wish I was going home today.
