2-Star Hotel in a 5-Star Location This place has so much potential, but wow — what a disappointment. For the price they charge, the overall experience is downright lousy. The location is stunning, but that’s where the compliments end. I have no clue how this resort has such high ratings, because our stay was far from five-star. Rooms The rooms are old, dated, and in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation. You’d think for these prices, you’d get a luxury room with a comfortable bed and top-notch finishes. Nope. Everything feels worn out and past its prime. The place needs a serious overhaul. Food Let’s talk about the food — because, honestly, that chef needs to go back to basics. Every meal was overcooked, and completely joyless. We actually started dreading mealtime. For what this place costs, you’d expect restaurant-quality food, not something that tastes like it came out of a school cafeteria. If you do stay here, just book bed and breakfast and plan to eat your other meals elsewhere. Drinks The drinks were decent, but there’s no beach bar and no staff taking drink orders down by the beach. You’ve got to climb a bunch of stairs just to grab a cocktail, which kills the vibe completely. Resort The beach is the real gem — absolutely beautiful — but getting to and from it is a workout. There are so many stairs, it’s not practical for anyone with mobility issues or anyone just trying to relax. Overall This is a 2-star hotel sitting on a 5-star piece of land. The location is gorgeous, but the property itself is run-down, the food is bad, and the value just isn’t there. Such a waste of potential — and honestly, a waste of money.

A standout stay at Calabash Cove
Calabash Cove It describes itself as boutique resort. So what does that mean? Well the resort is small. Only 26 rooms and for much of our stay there was only maybe 12 rooms occupied and on some days only 4 rooms. The staff are all hard working and helpful and attentive. It is off peak season so I’m sure it’s an opportunity for leave breaks. Things are quietly fixed if you find a problem. We had a broken toilet seat and faulty hairdryer which we reported the first morning. It was fixed by the time we got back from breakfast! With the resort being so small the staff are a single team. There is a fair bit of overlap with duties so I t would be unfair to single out the more gregarious members or just those serving drinks to us all, but I will. Maggie our maid was truly standout. she’d have the room cleaned, moped and beds made by the time we returned from breakfast. Very often support staff are overlooked, but we’d like to acknowledge she was our unsung hero. Joachim was for us, our best bartenders, but to be honest he is only a pip above the others. The bar in the room is fully stocked everyday. Bottles of wine can be ordered, rather than 5 single glasses. Top shelf spirits are available on AINC. More expensive wines if you wish to pay extra. But the house wines are all fantastic. We have had 19 nights at Calabash Cove, way more than most, on an All inclusive package. The actual menu boards physically don’t look that appetising, but the actual content is quite beautiful. Better fonts and a refresh of the actual menus themselves (not the food) would be of use. We were a little concerned about the fixed lunch and dinner menus for our length of stay, however the specials sheet changes daily, and there is no cycle to them that we could see. As a result we agreed the menu did not tire for the whole 19 nights. And Lobster - not a supplement. A first for any resort we have been to in the Caribbean. On occasion during the quieter periods the staff were a little sparser and the drinks and food took longer to arrive. But we are on Island time and there is no rush for anything. I have to say the pool bar closing at 5 is rather early. 6 is a better closing time as there is no bar on the beach. So I think Boutique just means a slower life. But if there is anything you want, you will always get it. Would we go back 100% yes.

Incredible honeymoon choice, small/quiet property with lots of privacy. Go all inclusive if you can!
An intimate experience with very professional staff, luxury accommodations, white sand beach, and delicious food! Daily room cleaning. Beautiful views from every angle. We stayed 5 nights and did all inclusive, the perfect amount of time to try a little bit of everything at the restaurant and on the cocktail menu!

The best honeymoon! Highly recommend Calabash Cove!
Had the most wonderful honeymoon experience here in May 2025. The beachside cabin was an unbelievable experience and we would highly recommend. It came with it's own plunge pool and the room itself had A/C, which was much needed after being outside in the St. Lucian sun. Also, the outdoor shower was a nice touch and from our cabin we had a beautiful view of the beach. We loved all of the food from the Windsong restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had the Breakfast Only plan but definitely didn't feel the need to get the All Inclusive despite having drinks with most meals - we ended up saving a lot of money but up to you if want the peace of mind and eat/drink a fair share. Also, the view from the top of the lobby/restaurant cannot be beat. The amenities along the beach, the spa, the gym (while limited, it definitely gets the job done) are all great perks. We had a private dinner scheduled for the pier one night but since it rained, they put us under a covered patio on the beach (which was just as great!). The one thing that put this hotel over the top and beyond 5 stars is THE STAFF. We knew going in we wanted a boutique experience that was personalized to us for our honeymoon. Not only did we get that, but we got the most friendly, personable waiters, bartenders, and front desk staff you can imagine. Everyone was amazing but special shout outs to Christian, Shanelle, Michael, Travis, Sandy, Rohan, and many more I'm missing since it's been several months. You all truly made our stay here amazing! We hope to make it back here sometime again in the future.
