Good hotel with great location. All the attractions in San Juan are very near by. Room looks a bit old, but it was clean. There are some sort of entertainment going on in lobby like live music or art booths. Overall I had good experience.

We just came back from a five day stay at this hotel. First, you need to remember, this is a hotel, it's not a sprawling all-inclusive resort. We utilized the pools and beach area everyday. The pools were FREEZING. The beach area was so nice, the water was calm enough to walk in and swim. My kids loved both areas. We were served and checked on in both areas. We stared in the beach wing, which I guess is the oldest wing, but the room was still nice and clean. We ate at the Italian restaurant, which was good, not extraordinary. We have been to italy and eaten at some really great italian places in chicago (where we are from) so Italian is hard to beat. The food at the bar in the (Caribar) was honestly the best we had. we also ate outside at the pools and that food was great too. We did not eat at mortons or the buffet breakfast.

Go for the views
My daughters and I stayed at the Carib over Thanksgiving and we definitely enjoyed our stay. You definitely come here for the ocean views so make sure your room has one. The pools and the beach are beautiful. Lots of restaurant options. Rooms are beginning to show their age and could use an update. I also had an issue with check-in, the room I selected wasn’t available at the 4:00 check-in time, and I was told we would have a wait of 2 hours. We ultimately had to switch rooms. Overall, enjoyed it, but we may look elsewhere next time.

lovely stay during recent conference
I had a lovely stay at this hotel last week. Yoryina offered an upgrade to a suite.Xavier and Ashley were kind. Kiara was nice when I had to call about a billing issue. I loved the Pina colada. This is apparently the birthplace of this drink. I can honestly say I have never had a better one anywhere else. I'd love to return and bring my husband the next time. This was a work trip. Having an oceanfront view made the trip so pleasant. I am also grateful for the folks who works in the Ice Cream and Cookie eatery, which is a short walk from the lobby. Great place for a breakfast sandwich, juice and good tea!

This room was a complete disappointment, despite the $1,000 night rate. There was no hot water, and the tub wouldn’t drain. The hallways were filled with a sickening mold and mildew smell. The ocean view was a lie; it wasn’t actually on the ocean. The pool was nice, and the people were friendly, but the $20 “upgrade” from the continental breakfast was a complete rip-off. The pool was probably the only saving grace for this hotel.
