Second stay at Casa de Campo- Unforgettable!

My family and I visited Casa de Campo for the second time and had an amazing experience as usual. We came last year in January and came back this year and will continue to do it annually. Johnathan at the check-in desk is incredible and so helpful. Iris, our customer service person, was INCREDIBLE as well! They made our stay so seamless and filled with everything we needed. Our villa was absolutely beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Fiore was our chef in the villa and she made the most delicious breakfast every morning. The beach service was amazing as usual. Thank you to Nikol, who served us drinks and food on the beach. She is the best!!! So were Alberto, Rafael, and Roberto on the beach… amazing! The waiters at Causa were the best! Loved our visit there. I went to ride at the equestrian center again and can’t say enough how amazing it was. Huge thank you to Alberto from the equestrian center who was our guide for the second year in a row. He is truly the best and I can’t wait to ride again with him next year. Eugenio at the skeet shooting was amazing as well and made that experience so fun and safe! Thank you to all casa de campo staff who made our experience truly unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Very enjoyable stay at the Premium Suites area

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Casa de Campo and would return. It is a beautiful, expansive resort with many strengths, though there are a few operational details that could be tightened up to elevate the experience further. We stayed in the Premium Suites, which were excellent. The suites were very large, well appointed, and extremely comfortable, with a great bed. The 24/7 concierge service was a major plus; ours, Verny, was outstanding and consistently helpful. Having a golf cart for the entire stay made getting around easy and enjoyable, and the on-demand shuttle service was efficient. Yuri, in particular, was great. The complimentary club area was a nice amenity, offering snacks, coffee, and alcohol service from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. There were, however, a couple of easy improvements that could be made. In the morning, they offered a delightful assortment of small, bite-sized cookies (macaroons, chocolate chip cookies, etc.), which were wonderful, but these would be far more appropriate and appreciated in the evening. We actually ended up taking a few at breakfast and leaving them in our room for later. Additionally, while the snacks were decent, they never varied and became repetitive after about six days. One mildly annoying aspect of the club service was the requirement to sign a bill for items that are later reversed at checkout. This feels unnecessary, especially since an 18% service charge is already included on virtually everything at the resort, and it creates the impression that guests are being nudged to tip on top of that. We dined at restaurants on the property every night. The food was generally good, and while service was uneven at times, it was still better than what we’ve experienced at many Caribbean resorts. The pools throughout the resort were a bit on the cool side, likely around 78 degrees; a slightly warmer temperature (closer to 83) would have been more comfortable. The beach club itself was excellent, with plenty of chairs during our stay, though we were told this can be an issue during holiday periods. The adults-only pool was lovely, with beautiful views over the beach and water. That said, during the four days we planned to use it, one day it closed at 3:00 p.m. for a private event, and another day it was closed as early as 9:00 a.m. for event setup, and I was not allowed to swim laps. That was disappointing. The tennis program was another area that fell short. There were no clinics offered at all, only private lessons. The hitting pros themselves were good, but one session was billed as a private lesson even though my husband, who is a former tennis pro and Division I player, had clearly booked time simply to hit with a pro, not receive instruction. On the golf side, my husband played Teeth of the Dog and absolutely loved it, saying it made Pebble Beach look like a dog track. That said, the reservation and billing process was frustrating. He was billed in advance for both himself and his friend without that being disclosed up front, and we are still trying to resolve the issue with someone named Fanny, who has since gone radio silent. In summary, Casa de Campo offers a beautiful setting, excellent accommodations, and many high-quality amenities. With some attention to consistency, communication, and a few operational details, it could be even better. Despite the issues noted above, we enjoyed our stay and would return.
