I do not recommend this hotel.
I booked and paid extra for a room with an ocean view, but the hotel gave me a room facing the pool instead. When I asked to change the room or receive any kind of assistance, the staff refused to help. Their explanation was unbelievable: they told me that “if you walk outside the hotel and see the ocean, that counts as an ocean-view room.” This is completely unacceptable and misleading. I paid for a service I never received, and the hotel made no effort to correct the situation. Extremely disappointingo experience and poor customer service. I do not recommend this hotel.

Wonderful stay in Kauai
We had a wonderful experience at the Iso. The room was absolutely beautiful with ocean view. The hotel has a pool with beach-chairs and they provide you towels. We also got two refillable bottles and could fill them up with fresh water in the lobby every day. There is also a grab and go breakfast from 7 to 10 am. The location is practical to see both the North and South Shore of the island.

Decent, pleasant stay.
Decently affordable place, clean, ocean front. Very small beach front so not exactly a hotel to expect you can lounge on the beach that is attached. Consider bigger resorts with free day use facilities, especially if you have a late flight.

Would recommend ISO as good value
I would definitely recommend staying at ISO. This is a good location on the island. It is centrally located relative to the highway system. They have friendly staff, great amenities, it is on the beach, free parking, free breakfast, free yoga class, and free bike rentals.

Chillin in Kapa'a
Its not the fanciest resort in Kapa'a but it was comfortable and reasonable value. The proximity to the ocean is nice but as its a shallow reef, its not a great swimming beach, there are better spots within walking distance, but the best beaches for swimming or snorkelling are a bit of a drive. The tourism guides for Kauai are a good source of local info. The really clear night skies stargazing was amazing
