    Lovely, but with caveats

Almost everything about Sandals is first class: the restaurants, the staff, the luxury fittings and furnishings and beautiful grounds. All the meals were excellent, with so many places to choose from. However, why can’t such an expensive resort provide enough lounge chairs under the palms by the beach for everyone? Even if we got up at seven to mark two chairs with towels, sometimes someone else had taken those chairs by nine or 10 AM. There were only a few stations on the TV in our room, none of which carried the winter Olympics that we wanted to watch, and the Guide didn’t work. TVs in the public areas mostly showed European football and cricket. There was limited evening entertainment, unlike the nightly performances under the stars when we stayed at Sugar Bay a few years ago. We set our room temp for 25 degrees C, but it was always 21 when we came in: too cool! Overall we had a wonderful time but at our age (seniors) little things become big things.

Service quality not sufficient of a resort of this level

The resort as a whole is well kept and there are a lot of restaurants and pools at your disposal. There were three things that results in the 3-star rating. First the room was underwhelming for the price. The bathroom needed work (leaky pipe above ceiling) and other items showed it was time for a remodel. Reservations were frustrating as on Day 1 we couldn't even book a dinner reservation in the main steakhouse and we were staying a week. (We ended up talking to the host our last night and she worked us in. She was the one excellent service person there). And service... other than the above mentioned person 80% of the staff seem disinterested in even being there and their service - or lack thereof - was a result. I never even got an entree in one restaurant and the server never returned - even though he was in the restaurant talking to co-workers. We flagged someone else down and 15 min later nothing. So we left. They will likely forget a few of your drink orders as well - and if not it will be at least 15 min. If the room saw a refresh and somehow they invigorated the staff (which would be a remarkable task) - it would be a very nice place. But for the price the level of service was unacceptable.

    Amazing honeymoon location

There are not many negatives to say about this hotel! The beach is absolutely stunning. I don’t think there’s a restaurant I wouldn’t recommend with Butch’s being our favourite. The doughnut shop and French cafe are also great, especially if it rains and you just want a little coffee for your balcony in the rain! Entertainment was great and authentic. The beach party on a Monday is definitely one to go to! The staff were all great but big shout out to those in the pool bar by Butch’s as they were amazing. Our room was great and we were lucky to be upgraded. 100% recommend the free snorkelling trip but get booked in quickly. Drinks were great and so nice to use proper alcohol like other hotels do, and nothing watered down! Only comments would be: - sun bed situation is ridiculous with most sunbeds being taken by 6:30. We got up on the first day to look at the sunrise imagining we’ll be the only ones up but people were up on their loungers or putting down towels! - no clear place to go in the evening so it feels like everyone has disappeared by 9pm and loses its vibe. - sometimes feels like you’re less important if you’ve not got a Butler.

    Hugh disappointment.

Arrived at 10 after a cruise, after giving details pointed at a bar and told room would be ready asap. At 4.30 we got in our room large seemed ok. After unpacking. Notice hair on the bed, the floor and mats were filthy. Not wanting to repack just asked for a decent clean while we were at dinner. No didn’t happen, dirty rug still under the bed where I through it. That ended up in reception chucked on their floor. Other room faults no light switch near bed. Sockets not working. Worst of all old ventilation fan running constantly making a hell of racket. So the rooms are awful the rest seems nice enough, Caribbean service levels, beach grubby sun beds and litter. Better places about

    Honeymoon Trip of a Lifetime

My husband & I went on our honeymoon this February. We had truly the most incredible time from the minute we arrived to the last second before we left. From the beachfront view, to the incredible staff, to the delicious food & drinks, and the atmosphere. We met so many wonderful people visiting from all over the world. We got to explore the beautiful island of Barbados and enjoy the spectacular beaches/ocean. If you are deciding on a honeymoon or trip location, we cannot recommend Sandals Barbados enough! Pictured below are some of the most special staff members who made our trip unforgettable. We cannot say enough about these three! Thank you each for going above & beyond to put a smile on our face! We LOVE BARBADOS!
