    Decreasing quality hotel with services

Poor customer service, if you want it please have a good wallet to provide the dollar. Rooms () are a little bit old even if you pay extra as a exclusive. Buffet restaurants. The big one is okay because there are more options that the buffet beach. (The daily food menu is always the same). Location is okay if you ate looking for something close to de airport other that you have to rent a car to close distance of 9 km (small-town). Value poor there are more very good options. Cleaners is not good. People are working for mopping and make the beds that it. Building 9 is very noisy and please expect to listen music for the other amenity. There are 18 buildings and the 9 is the middle one, that's mean you have to walk to the principal buffet, teather, reception, etc or the other way to the pool, beach, buffet, kids club (after 4 yrs).

    Save yourself

A huge disappointment. The food was poor and if you have any allergies they simply do not understand and are unable to accommodate. Staff definitely need customer service training and while there are a couple of exceptions, there are some rude and unpleasant staff. There is noisy building work which starts before 9:00 am and is seven days a week. Save yourself and find a better hotel.

    Cockroaches in building 32

We experienced cockroach infestations in two separate rooms during our stay. Our first room was 3213. We observed cockroaches in the room, documented them with photos, and immediately requested a room change. In addition, there was loud music the first night that made sleep extremely difficult. We called the front desk twice to complain and were told both times that a manager would call us back. No one ever did. We were then moved to room 3205, where we stayed for two additional nights. Unfortunately, cockroaches were again present, this time running around the shower area. We documented this with additional photos. After multiple complaints to management, including concerns about room condition and a damaged door lock that allowed the door to remain open by nearly an inch, we were finally moved to building 46, room 4646. This room was clean, well maintained, and free of cockroaches. We later learned that this room was a Superior Junior Suite, which is the room category we originally paid for. As a result, we spent three nights in substandard rooms with cockroach infestations, despite paying for five nights in a Superior Junior Suite. We also spoke with another guest during our stay who independently reported cockroaches in their room. Separately, we have serious concerns about review manipulation. A staff member approached us requesting a review, took my wife’s phone, selected five stars in every category, and then asked her to submit a written review. This interaction made us extremely uncomfortable and appears to be a clear violation of anti-manipulation review policies. Our review is accurate, factual, and supported by photo evidence. It does not violate any platform policies. However, encouraging or directly submitting five-star reviews on a guest’s behalf does raise legitimate compliance concerns. Given the circumstances, we will also be reporting this matter to the Federal Trade Commission regarding deceptive review practices and the allowance of manipulated reviews. We are requesting that this complaint be reviewed seriously and addressed appropriately. Sincerely, Mark Q

    Worst resort in the DR

This is by far the worst resort I have stayed at in the Dominican Republic. I have been traveling here for over five years and absolutely love this country, but this place was a huge disappointment. The food was consistently cold no matter where we ate. The shows were boring and felt poorly organized. The kids club was especially disappointing as the staff was not friendly or engaging at all, which made it uncomfortable to even leave our child there. I understand this is not an English speaking country and that has never been an issue for me in the past, but here it was extremely difficult to communicate. Even the restaurant waiters did not speak basic English, which made ordering food and asking simple questions frustrating. Our room issues were unacceptable. The shower was broken, the telephone did not work, and the day after we arrived the roof started leaking from the rain directly onto our beds. This is not something anyone should deal with while on vacation. Honestly, I cannot think of a single reason to stay at this resort. There are far better options in the DR for the same price or less. Save your money and book somewhere else.

    Customer service training definitely needed

Let’s start with the positive. Overall it is a nice resort. We upgraded to Privileged so our room was nice. The Grand Carib buffet has a great selection and did an amazing job on Christmas Eve. The Italian restaurant was excellent and we would highly recommend reserving it along with the Steakhouse restaurant. The service and staff at the Italian restaurant far out shone the Steakhouse. The Aroma coffee bar was nice but the staff don’t seem to enjoy their jobs. When offered a tip they just pointed to a jar to put it in. The resort grounds are fairly well kept. The beach was disappointing. Lots of stuff washing up onto the shore and you had to wade through all kinds of seaweed to get to cleaner water. The pool is definitely not big enough for the resort. It was kept clean which we appreciated. We had difficulty most days getting beach towels, they constantly ran out of them and we saw many people bringing room towels to the pool - not acceptable. The towel guy needs customer service training which we felt was lacking through out the resort. The privileged package upgrade gets you a nicer room but NOT early check-in or late checkout as advertised. We were also supposed to have beach towels in our room upon check-in which didn’t happen. The noise - the music at the pool was ridiculously loud making it less enjoyable to send the day there. We were in building 16 which is closer to the front. The lower the building number the closer you will be to the pool. Would we go back to this resort, probably not just based on the missing customer service, where tipping didn’t even improve it.

The Dominican Republic imposes various restrictions each year for Easter.  The restrictions usually begin the Thursday prior to Good Friday, and run a few days past Easter Sunday.  The following regulations may be enforced:
*Motorized and non-motorized watersports may be banned
*Alcohol consumption may be restricted  (most resorts obtain a special permit which enables them to serve alcohol to non-native persons during the ban)
*Music may be limited or silenced

These rules are designed for the safety of everyone, as beaches get extremely busy during this period.
