  Beautiful October Getaway

  Friendly staff and wonderful amenities made this a terrific vacation. We had a Privileged Junior Suite in Villa 36, closest to the beach. Dining options are good, plenty of activities to keep you busy and also quiet places to relax. Ms Maritza at the spa gave a wonderful massage!

  We’ve just come to the end of two absolutely amazing weeks on the adults-only side of the hotel, and we honestly don’t want to leave. ❤️🌴☀️ There are some people here who have made our holiday so incredibly special, and we really feel they deserve a huge thank you. The staff in the restaurant on the beach beloved have been absolutely wonderful. Lenny, the restaurant manager, has been simply amazing. From the moment we met him, he made us feel so welcome and looked after. He has such a lovely personality and genuinely cares about his guests. He is one of those people you won’t forget, and we feel so lucky to have met him. Alexa and Michael Jordan have also been absolutely fantastic. They have been so friendly, happy and welcoming every single day. Their smiles, kindness and attention made such a difference to us, and they really did go above and beyond. ❤️ They weren’t just staff to us by the end of our holiday — they became part of the reason we enjoyed our time here so much. It’s amazing how much a friendly face, a smile and a little kindness can mean when you’re away from home, and these three people really made us feel special. Sadly, there were a couple of experiences with other members of staff that did spoil things for us slightly. Elizabeth at the pool bar restaurant, along with the gentleman serving there, were unfortunately extremely rude towards us. It was such a shame, especially because the vast majority of the staff we met were so lovely and helpful. Nobody should leave a holiday remembering how they were made to feel by someone, and this was the one part of our stay that we wish had been different. But overall, we have made some absolutely beautiful memories over the last two weeks, and there are people here who we will genuinely remember long after we’ve gone home. A massive thank you to Lenny, Alexa and Michael Jordan for making our holiday so special. You are a credit to the hotel, and we truly hope the hotel knows just how much you are appreciated. ❤️ We’ll leave with wonderful memories, big smiles and very heavy hearts because we really don’t want to say goodbye. 🥹❤️🌴☀️

  Very disappointed

  When i get there I decided to purchase the gold exclusive member package which cost me 25000 saying I would get treated better and have priority. So I decided to have a friend come over for a night which I was able to I was told so I go to register everything is fine and showered a picture of her passport.. good to go the next evening I go to pay and they tell me security wont let her in. I spend money for this evening and now I have no use for these items. If there was an issue with this person why wouldn't they tell me before hand so I could have tried to work something out. I will never book a vacation at any Catalonia hotels and good luck for them getting the rest of the money for membership.

  Pool is under construction & Beach is horrible....

  The pool is under construction. the beach is dirty. No one was advised that pool was under construction, started one week before we arrived. Everyone had to fight for a chair in other small pool. People had to site in resort restaurant lounge chairs close to 2nd pool because not enough chairs around pool. Worst resort service we ever experienced in our 15 years of visiting to Dominican Republic. Can not believe all these great reviews for this property. AVOID this property .

  Don't fall for the tour of the resort!

  When we checked into the hotel they called a gentleman over. I thought he would be the one to help us to our room. He advised us that he'd be making sure our stay was nice and gave us his contact information. He said to meet him at 9:00 the following morning and he'd show us all the beautiful things they had to offer. I was impressed that they offered to give us a tour. When we met him and got into breakfast we found out that it wasn't just a tour to show us what they had to offer. It was a ploy to get us to join their travel plan. They showed us beautiful suites that they said were only available to members. (I looked on the site and they are available to rent.) We did see the resort on the way to their high pressure room. Another man came over to "close the deal" is what I'm calling it. When I told him no he pushed as I expected. I told him my job wasn't certain currently and I wasn't going to be fooling and take on more debt (and their number was big!!). He asked if I was a Christian. When I replied that I was his response was "Well then you know God will always provide." At that point I advised him that he'd crossed a line and that we were finished. I'd strongly suggest that you decline that assistance at check in unless you are looking to join a travel club. The food was good. It was what I expect from an all inclusive. I came home with extra pounds so it wasn't too bad! All the staff members that we met were very kind. If we needed anything they got it for us with a smile. I didn't find the adults only side to be nearly as pretty as the family side. That is just personal preference. In the middle of our vacation they close one of our two pools. That made the other pool crowded and the water was cloudy from that many people. I realize they have to do maintenance, however it would have been nice to know that before we went or be give some accommodations for that inconvenience. When we left I said I just wanted to relax, read books and spend time at the swim up bar. If that is what you are looking for, this will take care of you if you aren't looking for other things to do.
