Oct 05, 2026Never again after many years being a guest
Arrived two days prior to our reservation, as we received a strange voicemail telling us not to come with no name, and from a different city than the Cliffs is in. We arrived to check on things as most of the North shore had no power or water. We saw guests walking around the property, and power was actively being restored (& ended up being restored by the day of our reservation start date.) a very rude lady (we were told her name was Janelle, but I also see terrible reviews about a mean lady named Jannette.) we know this lady because every year, she is always rude to guests. We typically ignore her, but this time, she came from her back office & asked us “when are you leaving.” She said three different ways that we should get on a plane and leave. She took the liberty of telling us we’d get a refund. This was not the case. So far, no refund & no communication. As I said before, the Ckiffs retained full power and water by the time we would’ve been staying there. Instead, we spent our time cleaning up Kauai beaches and giving very generous Buisness and tips to other lodging in the island that treated us with dignity & appreciated us coming at a time when tourists were told not to come. It ended up hurting the local businesses that were open, and within days, Kauai was asking for tourists to return. We also have friends who were supposed to be at the cliffs, and they were rudely told not to come. They also didn’t get a refund. I have been told that this employee did not have the authority to turn away a guest. Our annual trip to the cliffs will never happen again, as we cannot give our money to a Buisness that employs a person who treats guests so inhumanly. There are much nicer properties on the island with employees who take care of their guests, instead of projecting hatred and distain. Perhaps next time a natural disaster occurs, instead of sitting in the back office, get out and help restore & rebuild.

We were there during a very challenging time...before, during and after Hurricane Lowell came through. The rooms are beautiful and comfy. Each has patio or balcony with beautiful views of garden or ocean. After the storm, the staff (who couldn't even get home) were always kind and helpful. Once they got power to office, they had several power strips so we could charge our phones and use their internet. They even had coffee! As soon as the road was cleared, their landscaping staff was there cleaning up all the branches, leaves and trees that came down from the storm making it safer for all of us. I would definitely recommend

Sep 14, 2026NO A/C. Old amenities. Good WiFi. Sticky rooms without AC
Rooms are old and needs updating. NO AC! one screen door didn’t lock. Since there’s no AC, you can’t sleep without keeping the door open. So not being able to lock as least the screen door was annoying. One of the fam wasn’t working properly. It didn’t rotate. If you’re used to humid weather. You’ll be fine. But if you’re used to dry weather, this will be very unpleasant. Everything is sticky and gross.

A magical vacation at a beautiful resort.
We loved our stay here. The rooms were spacious and we'll supplied. The pool area wonderful and staff very kind and helpful. The property was very well kept and vast. We had 2 families, 3 condos and a wedding proposal. We can't wait to visit again. Mahalo!
