  Not the experience we expected

  Very disappointing stay – definitely not the experience we expected. My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, the experience was one disappointment after another. The biggest issue was how poorly my husband's dietary requirements were handled. Despite informing the hotel, he was served food he couldn't eat on three separate occasions. Breakfast and lunch also had an extremely limited menu for guests with dietary requirements, which made mealtimes frustrating rather than enjoyable. Our arrival set the tone for the whole stay. After a long journey, we were left waiting over an hour for a buggy to collect us at check-in. When it eventually arrived, it ran out of battery, meaning we had to walk up the hill anyway. After travelling a long distance, waiting an hour for a service that ultimately didn't get us to our destination was a complete waste of time and very disappointing. The room wasn't properly cleaned when we arrived. Ripped bedding - see photo. The mini bar was another issue. Items we specifically requested were not stocked, and we had to wait three days for rum to be added to the mini bar. This should have been a very simple request to fulfil, yet it took most of our stay. The snack bar was also poorly managed. It didn't open on time, and when it eventually did, it didn't have the correct items available. Another major issue was the constant harassment on the beach. Every day we were approached repeatedly by people selling lobster, jet ski rides, tours and other activities. We appreciate that people are trying to make a living, but guests should be able to relax on the beach without being constantly approached and pressured. What was particularly disappointing was the complete lack of visible security or hotel staff stepping in to prevent this. There appeared to be no security presence on the beach to deal with the situation or give guests any peace. Although some members of staff were lovely, unfortunately others made us feel like we were an inconvenience whenever we asked for drinks, food, or assistance. That's not the level of hospitality you expect when you're paying to stay at a hotel of this standard. Overall, there were simply too many issues throughout our stay — from dietary requirements and food availability to cleanliness, the buggy service, the mini bar, the snack bar, the lack of beach security and the attitude of some staff. It is such a shame because the facilities and location are amazing, and the hotel has so much potential. Unfortunately, it appears to be poorly managed, and this really lets the whole experience down. This is simply not what you expect for the price you pay. We expected a much higher standard of service, organisation, attention to detail, security and genuine hospitality. Sadly, we would not return and would not recommend this hotel.

  Great time at Cocos!

  We had a lovely time celebrating our 25th anniversary. The staff was very friendly and they went out of the way to make our anniversary dinner special. The rooms are all very private and upscale rustic is how I guess I would describe it. You will not be disappointed. Also, the beaches were beautiful,

  Rustic Paradise

  Our stay at Cocos was as amazing as the first time!! The beach is amazing!! Recommend to bring an empty water bottle and easy to pack pool floats! We will definitely be back!!

  Rustic hotel in beautiful surrounding.

  What a wonderful break at Cocos's. The beaches are beautiful, food and drink in abundance. There is nightly entertainment and plenty to do. Excellent staff and service. Would most definitely recommend.

  Excellent Honeymoon Spot!

  We had such an incredible time at Cocos. The staff and other guests were so friendly and welcoming from the moment that we arrived. We will miss all of our new friends. The quality of everything was seriously top notch, you will not be disappointed!
