Jun 04, 2026Good location, nice staff, with some TLC this place will be even better.
Front desk staff and housekeeping were all hardworking, lovely people. The hotel is housed in a 300-year-old building with some historic charm. It is a bare-bones, basic, lay-your-head-down-at-night place. The hotel, with some work and upgrades, could be so much more and worthy of a higher review. Every staff member I had interactions with went out of their way to do whatever I asked. I wish there were some better food and beverage options. Next door is a small coffee shop, just need to read the signs and not go in more than 2 at a time. The muffins are out of this world delicious; carrot, cranberry, and banana were my absolute favorites. With good iced and hot coffee, it's an inexpensive breakfast for the area. Back at the hotel, the beds were comfy, and the AC was good. The room was a bit dark, making it difficult to read in bed. The room has a small coffee maker, excellent toiletries, a small fridge, and a microwave. They give you two bottles of water when you check in, and you can buy cold or room-temperature water for $1 a bottle at the desk. The location is good for the waterfront area and the ferry to Cay Beach. (Ferry is $5 per person round trip, umbrellas and chairs cost us $55 for the two of us). I have some mobility challenges, and I was able to walk easily to the fort, the waterfront for Rumrunners, Carolines for breakfast, Harbor Prime, and, in the other direction, Savant for dinner. A two-minute walk from the hotel is Galangal, an excellent asian fusion restaurant. The hotel has decent pool towels. The pool had a lot of dirt on the bottom that stayed there the entire 5 days of our stay. I spoke to the pool cleaner, and he said the island gets a lot of dust, and he didn't want to put the chemicals in the pool while I was in it. It is a small pool with cute statues and a little waterfall. The rooms were kept clean, and there was only one housekeeper doing all the rooms, it seemed. We asked daily for new towels and for garbage removal. We were greeted with smiles by the housekeeping staff, and everything was always taken care of. I booked this through JetBlue vacation packages and didn't have any issues. The hotel had a list of taxi drivers, and we were able to get to the airport in less than 30 minutes for $30 USC. We took a tour with Tina at J and T Adventures and customized our adventure. I highly recommend her!!! There is a gate to the side in the backyard, and you can exit easily to get even closer to the waterfront. We heard the hotel will be undergoing some improvements soon. With some polish, this place can be a gem. I would definitely consider coming back for a few days.

I’ve been planning an event at Company House since October 2025. Confirmed access, logistics etc, conference reservation was confirmed. I proactively reached out , 2 weeks prior , to confirm details, and was informed that they are under construction and can’t accommodate the event. When would I have been notified, the day of the event. All I received was a “we are sorry , try Buccaneer”. Perhaps construction just started perhaps it was an over book, but unacceptable that I had to inquire to receive notice.

The hotel and ladies at the front desk were amazing. They know the meaning of hospitality. I had an amazing rest that was needed after a day walking around in Christiansted. The parking situation was the only setback, if that can be updated it would be awesome.

An Oasis of Peace and Tranquility in Christiansted
We stayed five nights at the Company House Hotel and had a wonderful stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were steps away from Fort Christiansvaern and Christiansted National Historic Site, and an easy walk to the waterfront. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only minor drawback is that there is only street parking available. Not an issue in the evening, but it can be a challenge during the day. We had no problems finding a place to park within easy walking distance. An enjoyable stay.

Hidden Gem
For the money I would stay here again. The Hotel building is probably over 300 years old. They have done a nice job keeping things up to date. It is clean and it is in a great location. We are 2 blocks away from the water. If you want a hotel in St Croix to lay on the beach you will pay probably double the price. The room was good sized and the staff was friendly. The island is very laid back. To go anywhere on the island if you do not have a car you need a cab and they are not easy to get and they are expensive. The nice thing about the location you can walk to so many nice shops and places to eat. So a lot depends on what you like. When I go back I will stay here again.
