An Iberostar Experience in Mexico
My stay here was great. The staff was excellent. From my arrival to coordinating activities to dinner arrangements, staff members were welcoming and kind. The grounds are beautiful, well kept. It's fairly easy to walk to different event locations to watch performances or participate in events. Fun and quiet vibe. Unfortunately during my stay the Mexican restaurant was closed for renovations. My air conditioner went out for a short time but the staff sent an hvac technician to fix it as quickly as possible. The events at the resort were nice and the food was similar to that of other resorts. The hibachi restaurant provided excellent entertainment and great food. This experience was my food highlight of the resort. My steakhouse experience was not great. My steak was overcooked and seasoned beyond consumption. The adult only side of the resort is very relaxing. I managed to catch a few performances at night with resort dancers that gave a good show. The room was well kept, nothing to write home about however the balcony view of the water was a great bonus. The room decor was bright and vibrant. The bar at the main check-in area of the resort, breathtakingly beautiful. I would go back.

Honest Review – Iberostar Coral Cancun
This was a last-minute change for us. We were originally meant to travel to Jamaica, but due to Hurricane Melissa and work commitments, we had to pivot quickly. We were there the last week of November and first week of December. After hours on hold with our vacation company (like many others), our first choice sold out and Iberostar Coral Cancun became our second option. We had never stayed in Cancun before (only further down the Mayan), and we were there for 14 days, so comfort really mattered. I like a chill, non-snotty 5-star experience: friendly staff, a comfortable room, great food, nice views, and flexibility—some nights dressed up, other nights relaxed. This resort absolutely delivered. Why the Coral side matters: We stayed on the Coral (adults-only) side and it was fantastic. Calm, attentive, and consistently friendly staff. We did visit the Selection side briefly and it felt busier and more family-oriented, with a noticeable difference in atmosphere. Coral was exactly what we wanted. Pools, beach & activities: Never had to save chairs Great pool entertainment (energetic, but easy to find quieter spots) Beach was lovely; just be mindful of undertow on rougher days Fantastic fitness offerings (spin & aqua aerobics daily) Special mentions: Carmen & Saby (pool servers): Truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and memorable (I miss them both) Beto (entertainment): High energy and genuinely fun; so happy every day! Hector (fitness): Encouraging, professional, and consistent; full of smiles! Food: My husband is a foodie and was impressed across the board. Buffets were excellent, especially having our own Coral buffet Steakhouse was the standout (and we’re from Alberta—high praise) Mediterranean and Italian were very good Japanese was underwhelming One important note: unless you’re an Iberostar member, you can’t reserve à la cartes (except Japanese). After 7 pm, waits can be long. For Coral guests paying more, allowing even limited weekly reservations would be a big improvement. That said, the front desk staff did their best to help us. Outstanding service highlights: Jazmin (Coral restaurant manager): Absolutely made our stay—arranged an anniversary cake and champagne, always warm and engaged Esmeralda (hostess): Remembered us quickly, brought mimosas, went above and beyond daily Amando (coffee bar): Best morning coffee and always cheerful Jose (front desk): Kind, helpful, and welcoming The one real downside: The rooms run very warm. We had the AC set to 19°C the entire stay. The hotel was apologetic and brought us a fan (which helped a lot), but fans are limited. After a recent renovation, ceiling fans would have been a smart addition. But, the rooms are absolutely stunning and huge! We did the corner with dual balcony, stunning views. Final thoughts: Despite the minor room issue, we felt safe, comfortable, cared for, and genuinely appreciated. The Coral staff — every single one (and I mean that) — went above and beyond, including management! We don’t visit Mexico as often anymore, but we would absolutely return to Iberostar Coral Cancun. This is an honest review, and I highly recommend it.

The servie here is pathetic. Don't waste your money
The rooms are extremely musty and caused my sinuses to flare up. I requested a room change, I was given another musty room. In my initial booking, I requested a king size bed, I also called in advance to check if it would be given and I was informed that it was all sorted. No one mentioned that the only way I was guaranteed the room I paid for was if I did an online check in. Upon arrival, I was informed that it is not guaranteed despite getting a confirmation via phonecall and the request being listed as confirmed in my reservation. I was put on hold for a very long time when I attempted to call reception to clear this up until I hung up and had to go there personally. I'm not sure what the purpose of the phones are if no one ever answers them. The reception lady was argumentative and unhelpful. This completely dampened my holiday and I will not be returning to any Iberostar hotel again. In addition to this, I had attempted to get transport to the hotel via phone and email and both went unresponded to. This is the poorest customer service I have ever encountered from any hotel.
