1 night stay, Saturday 22nd November 2025
First time stay as we were attending a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse. Found the check in process straightforward. Our room was 525 which is on the same floor as reception. Our room was spacious, with a very comfortable king sized bed. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet - we food a good selection to choose from. Only downside for me was the water pressure and I much prefer a shower that has adjustable settings on the shower head. This would not stop me from staying again.

Fantastic Hotel
Check in was no problem, staff member polite, allocated a nice room on the 7th floor, comfy bed, huge pillows. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, cater for all tastes. The 1802 Bar was a nice place to relax. A very nice selection of single malt whiskies, pricey but this is Edinburgh, again the bar staff were polite. Overall a brilliant hotel, ideally placed, not to far from Waverley Station. Definitely recommend The Coutyard Marriott.

A lovely break
Went to the courtyard with my husband for 4days from 10th to 13th November. We had an issues at Newcastle with trains as soon as we entered the hotel it was lovely. At check in welcomed by a nice young man. He made it easy and fairly quickly. Gave relevant information. Once in the room it was lovely very clean. We had a room at the back of hotel but had a lovely view of the Carlton hills and a church. In the evening we had a meal in the hotel restaurant. Jim had a cheeseburger and I honey and whisky chicken. Very nice. Had breakfasts which also nice, on our last day I had haggis for breakfast, it was lovely. Another meal I had was Cullen skink name sounds awful but it was very nice. All staff very nice and helpful. We had a lovely chilled stay at the courtyard. Thanks to all.

Disappointed
Second time at this hotel, great location, friendly reception staff, however I unfortunately left my phone charger plugged in next to the bed, I realised this once on the train and phoned the hotel immediately. Reception said they would email me after house keeping had been in, no email came , phoned the next day to be told house keeping had not found my charger, REALLY! I was so disappointed that the staff did not follow this up! So never forget anything in this hotel , as you will never see it again !

Central
Situated at top Leith Walk, handy for Playhouse, opening night of 'Tina' From ck in where Nova made it a joy, to the bar staff and Belfast staff they could not have been more welcoming. Nice peaceful quiet room on fourth floor, handy for Bkfast. Clean and neat, with a plentiful breakfast, a few minutes from Saint James shops with a taxi rank nearby
