  I would rate it lower, but the location saves it somewhat (And they know it)

  Location: Excellent The hotel's biggest strength is its prime location right next to Multiplaza Pacific Mall—one of the best shopping centers in Panama City. If that's your main reason for staying here, it's convenient. Everything else, however, falls short of what you'd expect from a Marriott property. Noise leveles are minimal, you can sleep perfectly well. Facilities and Rooms: Average to Dated The facilities are okay—clean enough and functional. However, the rooms feel old and tired. Carpets, furniture, and overall decor show their age. For the price charged, the value is mostly tied to the location rather than the quality of the accommodations. Service: Consistently Poor This is where the experience truly disappoints. Despite being a Marriott, the service level does not meet the brand's usual standards. In my experience (and after 6+ visits to Panama), customer service across the country—including hotels—often feels lacking. Staff frequently display indifference, reluctance, or even mild hostility. Requests require multiple follow-ups, and basic courtesy is hit-or-miss depending on the employee's mood that day. Specific examples from my stay: - Room service refused to deliver a simple bottle of water to the room (even when offered to charge it). No alternatives were suggested—just a flat "we don't do that." - Housekeeping ignored the "make up room" schedule indicated on the door hanger. - In the restaurant, orders required repeated requests and chasing down staff to get anything done. Employees still expect tips despite delivering minimal effort. There appears to be little emphasis on guest satisfaction or going the extra mile—quite the opposite of the proactive service I've experienced at Marriott properties elsewhere in the world (and even at other hotels in Panama like the Sheraton or Hilton). General Observation on Service in Panama While this review focuses on the Courtyard, my repeated visits to Panama have shown a similar pattern across many establishments: a cultural tendency toward minimal effort, entitlement, and little concern for whether visitors leave with a positive impression. When service is provided by non-Panamanian staff, the difference is immediately noticeable and far more welcoming. Recommendation If location next to Multiplaza is essential and you're okay with average facilities and unreliable service, this hotel is acceptable. Otherwise, consider alternatives like the Sheraton Grand Panama or Hilton Panama—both offer better-trained staff and a more consistent service experience, even if it means taking short Ubers to the mall. This is not a luxury Marriott property, but the brand usually guarantees reliable service. Unfortunately, this location does not uphold that promise. I will continue visiting Panama for personal reasons, but I won't stay here again.

  Not a star Marriott

  We stayed 4 nights in this hotel as we joining a bus tour group for a Panama thing. Our room was a typical Courtyard that has seen better days. It is located next to a huge mall…but that also made walking around rather dangerous, especially after dark. Never tried the restaurant, but the breakfast buffet was decent so that’s a plus. Not being able to find restaurants with in walking distance was frustrating to say the least. They have a small workout room which we used a couple of times. So, nothing special or nothing terrible about this Marriott, although the front desk crew’s attitude could be improved.

  Peaceful experience

  A quiet hotel, good breakfast, comfortable beds and pillows, very clean. Its location is very convenient due to its proximity to Multiplaza Mall. The staff are attentive both at reception and in the restaurants. The pool and gym are small, but I didn't use them.

  Super Clean & Super Quiet Room

  I absolutely enjoyed my short stay at the Courtyard. My room was super clean, probably one of the cleanest rooms I've been in, anywhere, in a very long time. I also appreciated how quiet my room was. I could not hear any of the street traffic from Via Israel or from the mall traffic. Being connected to Multiplaza is a plus as you have access to restaurants and a supermarket. 10 stars.

  A functional hotel

  A very functional hotel. It is in a great location for both shopping and medical visits in Panama City. The red decor is a bit much, but the beds are as comfortable as any high end hotel. The gym and pool are very small, but functional. Breakfast is no try great but does the job. On the down side, the front desk is sheer chaos, and the bar, when open, is very bright and not at all inviting.
