Upscale family experience
First time at Atlantis and we booked the Cove. Originally I was going to book the Royal because other reviews said it is in the middle of all the action….well…it really isn’t a far walk to the action or a short shuttle ride. When I booked (through Costco travel) the cost of the Cove for an Oceanview Deluxe was about the same as a terrace view at the Royal. All I can say is the Cove is fantastic. Very upscale, open-air lobby with fish and water features. Beautiful finishing as give it that real upscale touch. Plus, the rooms are very large. Even with a 5th floor room I had a great view of the resort and the ocean and a full balcony I could sit out on and relax. Plus, the cove has a beach private to cove and reef guests. We hung out on Paradise beach and snorkeling within 10 feet of the shore yielded many small fish and 1 barracuda. (I think I saw a stringray swim by when I was sitting on my beach chair). We hung out at the water park, switched breakfast between Perch and Poseidon’s table, and got the full Atlantis experience at what I would consider the upscale property. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The room comes with a tote bag and 2 pairs of flip flops, as well as reusable water bottles for your stay. Bathroom was huge with a tub and rainfall shower. Bed was the MOST COMFORTABLE hotel bed I’ve ever had…after that I need to upgrade my mattress at home. As for the restaurants, Perch was good for breakfast if you get a breakfast credit. Breakfast for 4 was around $130-160 depending on what we ordered, but $100 daily credit made it a reasonable $30-60 for 4. The Poseidon table buffer runs $38 per adult and $19 per child 12 and under. You get more selection there but I personally overeat at buffets so we alternated. Again, personally if I didn’t have the $100 per day credit I’d be getting breakfast sandwiches at Starbucks or Shake Shack. The only dinner at the hotel we had was Jose Andres Fish, and it was phenomenal. Sea Glass lounge was ok for drinks (fairly quiet during our stay), and I feel the cocktails weren’t really that good there. Tried to order 2 different cocktails for my wife on each of 2 nights and they were out of ingredients for each. Honestly, if you are a resort and you put a specialty cocktail on the menu be sure to stock the ingredients. If I ever come back to Atlantis I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Can’t wait to see what they do with the renovations!

The Cove at Atlantis
Terrible customer service. The Cove. Go to BahaMar hands down. So much better. We have 2 rooms. At check-in one of the rooms wasn’t ready until 11pm (after a long day of travel). And when we booked months ago it was requested in the reservation that the two rooms be close by to eachother and we aren’t even on the same floor. The teens went to get their bracelets and were told they weren’t on the reservation even though we listed all names at check-in. Back to front desk to wait in line for 20 minutes… Teens went back after resolved to get their bracelets and they are out of paper and couldn’t print them… I do not write reviews ever but this place is sounorganized. BahaMar is lovely.

A Childhood Dream Turned Into A Nightmare.
I honestly don’t know where to begin. My family and I had dreamed about visiting Atlantis for years, and I genuinely thought this was going to be one of those vacations we would always remember. Unfortunately, we will remember it, but for all the wrong reasons. The problems started immediately. Our rooms weren’t ready, and when we asked staff for directions to restaurants, we were repeatedly sent in the wrong direction. We spent approximately 45 minutes walking around in the blazing Bahamian heat trying to find Coastal Grill and Frezca, only to eventually learn they were both closed and under construction. The worst part was that several employees simply didn’t know where these restaurants were. We later discovered the handheld maps we were given were outdated. We were told our rooms would be directly across from each other. Instead, I was put on the 17th floor while my family was on the 14th. When they finally got into their room, the AC was completely broken and the room was unbearably hot. They were then offered the 15th floor, only for staff to inspect that room and determine it wasn’t in acceptable condition. They were eventually moved to the 8th floor. We spent our first day dealing with room changes and problems instead of enjoying our vacation. The food was honestly shocking for a resort of this caliber. Pita was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. At Carmine’s, the meatballs tasted spoiled. Claudio’s smelled strongly of fish, the seating and table were dirty, and the fish tacos were some of the worst food I’ve ever tasted. I took one bite and couldn’t finish it. Amber was easily the best restaurant we experienced. Then came the final day, which was almost unbelievable. Shake Shack was closed. The buffet was closed. Nobu was closed. Paranza was closed, despite us making a reservation through the Atlantis app. Four different dining options unavailable on the same Sunday. At that point, we genuinely started wondering what exactly we were paying for. Maintenance was another major issue. The ice machine on the 17th floor was reported broken around 2:40 PM and remained broken for hours despite being reported multiple times. On the 8th floor, the ice-machine door had a broken door closer, which caused my mom to fall and hurt her back. That goes beyond being inconvenient. That’s a safety issue. The casino was equally frustrating. After multiple visits, the machines consistently felt unusually tight, with extremely poor bonuses and payouts. Even more concerning, multiple casino employees privately told us that the machines are tightened during the off-season and that this results in fewer tips for them. I cannot personally verify that claim, but hearing essentially the same thing from multiple employees was certainly concerning and something management should be aware of. There were positives. The aquarium and beach were enjoyable, Amber was great, and a few employees genuinely tried to help us. Kelrisha at reception in particular listened to our concerns and tried to make things right. But overall, this was an exhausting experience. We spent far too much of our vacation looking for restaurants, dealing with broken rooms and equipment, correcting misinformation, dealing with closed facilities and questioning why so many basic things were going wrong. Atlantis was a place I dreamed about visiting as a child. After finally getting the opportunity to go, I can honestly say the reality fell nowhere near the experience I had imagined. For what we paid, I expected exceptional service, organization, maintenance and hospitality. Instead, we left feeling frustrated, disappointed and exhausted. This wasn’t the Atlantis experience I had dreamed about.

Great Resort Experience
Great resort with a ton of things to do. Plenty of restaurants, pools and beaches on top of an entire waterpark. WE did something new each day we were there

Not very happy but great room with view
I will start by saying the room was Outstanding. Very comfortable, great atmosphere. I love the room and I also love the house keeping staff. They was attentive to my needs, they bought us water, and they made sure that we had everything we wanted in the room. So I would rate the room at an A+. I was informed when I booked that one side (Cove) was for adults and the Atlantis was for family. That was not true. I am one that does not drink around kids and there was children in every bar. There was also kids playing in the hallway on my floor. As a grandfather I love my kids but when I go away I want to relax without them.
