- Other Local AttractionsCozumel is rich in history and natural wonders. Popular destinations include ancient Mayan temples on the north side of the Island; the sanctuary to Ix- Chel -the fertility goddess- in San Gervasio and the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, with its colorful displays of underwater reefs and other Island treasures. At El Cedral, on the south side of the Island, the oldest Maya structure on Cozumel built in A.D. 800 can be found. Nearby a towering lighthouse at Punta Sur offers a 360-degree view of the Island.
Cozumel is habitat to many nature reserves: the Cozumel Marine Reef National Park, Chankanaab Park and Lagoon, and Punta Sur. Botanical gardens at Chankanaab Park display 350 different types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries. Another attraction is the dolphin aquarium, treating visitors to a close-encounter with playful dolphins. Punta Sur is a new eco-tourist park for visitors interested in learning about the Island's native flora and fauna. Encircling a region known as Colombia Lagoon, Punta Sur is a unique setting of mangrove jungles, white sandy beaches and reef formations. The Park's information center allows visitors to watch a 20-minute video and learn about different eco-systems, environment and native birds, turtles, alligators, fish and coral in the Park. At the information center, visitors can rent electric bikes to explore Punta Sur on their own.

A 3.5 star hotel with 5 star attitude
We have been to this resort 4 years in a row, at roughly the same time. The nightly entertainment has been getting better each year and is now excellent. At the beginning it was bingo and movie night. The activities during the day, like trivia, pool volleyball and Spanish lessons are great and the staff really get involved. Suny, Juanita, Jose and Yesi do a great job. The bartenders, serving staff and house keeping are very pleasant. The beach area is not really a beach but the snorkeling is great and the dining area on the water is fabulous and is located perfectly for sunset and cruise ship watching. The meals are tasty but do lack seafood besides fish which is served every meal. Rooms are spotlessly clean and cleaning staff is dedicated to making guests happy. The bikes are a nice addition and it is walking distance to the center of town or a cheap cab fare.

Great roof top pool, good breakfast
Excellent location. Pool is very clean and maintained. The view is amazing, especially for sunsets. The complimentary breakfast is very generous with lots of options. Filtered water is a bonus. Staff is friendly and I find the entire complex clean and maintained fairly well

Great Resort, nice people, big pool, limited food options
This is a neat resort withing walking distance of the ferry port and placed about halfway between the 2 cruise ports. Being in a very dive oriented area, days are very quiet at the resort so this could be a perfect spot for non-divers who want quite pool days. I don't recall ever seeing all the chairs at the pool occupied. Staff was very kind and greeted us well upon arrival, only about a 10 minute cab ride from the airport. Room was clean and typical for the age of the resort, no real complaints and even had a comfy hammock inside! Furniture was dated but nothing we could not live with for a week. No black out curtains but it wasn't too bright at night once the porch lights turned off. Food was the only thing that kept this from 5 stars, (I wish I could have done 4.5). The primary dining for all meals was a buffet that was average. For breakfast you could get eggs to order and some dinners had themed items that were made to order but your primary food was the buffet. There was a Snack restaurant pool side that had a few items, good food all made to order, that was our go to for lunch as was fast and fresh. The bars were good and staff was attentive, either at the bar or while at a table, thanks to Landrai, Ibrahim and Joel! Valantine was one of our favorite folks on resort, he greeted us every night and always made sure drinks including cold water were always full. Pool was huge and clean, always had plenty of space in or around it. The activities folks were so much fun and I knew their names on site, just cannot bring up now so I hope they all know we had fun! Shows were good and again plenty of seating for each night. There was a fish spay in the lobby, my wife loved it after a long day of travel! We did like the tunnel under the road as most meals were at the restaurant across the street and while the cars stopped, it was nice to just take the tunnel. The beach area is not a beach into the ocean but if you know Cozumel, that is normal. There was a nice spot where you can enter the water to snorkel and the activities shop had gear to borrow if needed, I cannot speak for the quality as did not use their stuff. Was very relaxing at the beach area and again accessed by going through the restaurant across the street form he resort.
