Deville Hotel Boutique, Panama City: Nice hotel. Big room. Relatively good breakfast, but starting at 7 am. Helpful reception. It seems Panama City does not have a down town, but the hotel is near main streets where shops & people are. Numerous restaurants of all kinds.

Interesting building style with Chinese colonial furniture. Our room was very spacious with a lot of wasted spaces. My son had to share king size bed with us even though it was a double level room with 2 toilets, dining table and lounge suite. Wifi average in the lounge, but no signal in the bedroom but very good in the lobby. The computer is old and very very slow. Some areas need urgent maintenance and carpet in passage need replacement. Not recommended for family with small children as the one window at stairs is very dangerous when opened. Walking distance from restaurants, Rey supermarket and Metro train and bus routes.

4-star Hotel without City map
De Ville is officially 4-star Boutique Hotel. I had De Luxe Suite, Single occupation, Breakfast included, for very good price, less than 60 euros per night. The Suite was not very large, but clean and quiet, as I requested, and Non smoking! The Furniture was classic, the double bed comfortable. I had in the room safe, fridge and coffee-maker for filter coffee. There was no welcome drink upon arrival and no free bottle of drinking water. There was no bar in the lounge. I was asked to pay my room upon arrival, which I did with my Mastercard. The bathroom was with shower, which is OK for me and had some toileteries (soap, shampoo, conditioner), but no body lotion, which I like and had it with me. Breakfast was good but not excellent for the 4-star hotel. I certainly missed some better cold meat, croissants and honey. There was yogurth the first morning only. The juice was not good, just "coloured water". The coffee was good. I asked at reception for the city map, as I was for the first time in the town, but they didn't have it. The most of the staff was correct, not extremelly kind, and most of them don't speak English. I asked for the wake-up call at 4.30 am the day of my departure, but they didn't call me. The best of all was Mr. Luis at reception.

So So!
Not very clean hotel, carpets old and dirty, lots of stains...it's too expensive for that hotel. in some rooms very very bad WiFi or sometime completely lost signal.. But very good location in the center of the city and At the reception they speak English!

Less than perfect on amenities
The hotel was clean and very unique, breakfast was good, location was wonderful, near lots of restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. But and this is a big but we couldnt get ice on the 3rd day. There appears to be no ice machine that we can help ourselves to and when we asked we were told that no ice was available today??? I was thinking ...go buy some then!!!
