Animation team at Catalonia Royal La Romana

I want to write a review about the great animation team of this resort, Armendi, Fernando, Sequetel and Beba get guests engaged in activities during the day and night, they are an extraordinary team of people that work very hard to make our stay pleasant and fun. There are also singers almost every night prior to a show of dancers or this year they had a neon show along with acrobats and a robot on stilts that was fantastic then a silent dance that was a lot of fun. In general there are activities at night and for those that have learned the different dances at the beach during the day, they get to practice what they learned at night.

Wouldn’t recommend if you have toddlers

This was the first and last time staying at this resort. I am a AP holder and decided to try a different Disney Resort than my usual go to. Big mistake! The rooms were tiny. Far from the main entrance. Only one bus at the main entrance. The skyliner takes you to Epcot and Hollywood studios. But if you travel with a toddler and take the Skyliner, you have to take it back to the resort. We got stuck in the front looking for the bus to the resort and security told us we had to walk back all the way to the end of Epcot to catch the Skyliner to the resort. We ended up taking an Uber because with a cranky 2 year old walking all the way back was not an option. These things are told to you when you stay there.

    Mold- unacceptable

MOLD!!!! My family felt horrible when staying here. We were not in the room much, but as soon as we came in each night, we all started getting itchy and felt "off". As soon as we left the hotel for the next day, we started feeling better. It wasn't until the night before leaving that I discovered all of the black mold in our room. It was heavy in the toilet tank and in the shower grout. The room had an off odor as well. This is a health hazard and is completely unacceptable considering the costs for these trips. I would avoid staying here.

    A Disappointing Disney.

First impressions leave a lasting memory. On arrival with our family group the cast member who met us was not very welcoming. This was in stark contrast to the excellent cast members of Disney All Star when we visited on several occasions many years ago, when our children were younger. There was not even an offer of help with our baggage. Later I did speak to another more friendly cast member who advised me that there was a service to help take our bags to our room. Our bedroom was clean but disappointingly there was no wardrobe hanging space for our clothes and only three small draws for our other clothes. Our small fridge was faulty and froze everything. It took three days to repair. The restaurant was freezing cold and remained so for every day of our two weeks stay. By the time you selected your food and queued to pay for it, it was cold. I had to use a microwave to eat anything hot. Generally, the food was expensive, not very healthy with high salt, fat or sugar content. On my first evening meal of Ramen soup, I developed symptoms of food poisoning. I reported this to the management that I suspected it was as a result of my meal, but the response was disappointing. Except when advising me of the arrival of some medication which I had to order and clearing our blocked toilet. In mitigation my two-year-old granddaughter also became ill during our stay, and the medical services who helped her were outstanding. The positive aspect of our stay was the lovely, themed gardens and swimming pools. Also, the transportation including the Disney Skyliner gondola was very good. Overall, it did not meet our expectations compared to our past Disney experiences in Florida. It failed to live up to its marketing and did not represent value for money for what turned out to be a very expensive holiday. A Disappointing Disney.
