  Horrible customer service

  Worst experience ever! Our three adult daughters asked for one of their Christmas presents for tickets to Disneyland for a sister's trip. We had annual passes when they were young for close to 10 years and often stayed overnight at Grand California. They are all extremely nostalgic about those stays and wanted to recreate their memories there. I was diagnosed with cancer about 16 months ago, and I think they are thinking about their childhood/past even more as a result. We were so excited and gave them a chunk of cash to get tickets with extra added on. They decided to splurge and stay at Grand California last week for one night. They mapped out what they were going to eat, the order they were going to explore the park, etc...Due to the So Cal heatwave they were planning on spending time at the pool which was a childhood favorite. When they arrived at the hotel they were told the pool was closed due to a private event. No one informed them prior to their stay when they could have had the opportunity to cancel the reservation and stay somewhere way more affordable than the $1100 they spent for one night. They were understandably so disappointed, and asked me to reach out . I emailed through the website and waited 4 days with no response. I emailed again requesting the GM call me. A guest service agent called and said they answer correspondence in order received. They informed me they needed to talk to my daughter since the resy was in her name. I told her I understood, but didn't want my daughter to have to wait another week for a response. I requested a more immediate response since we were all very upset about the handling of the situation due to the exorbitant amount of money spent for 1 night. The team member refused to call my daughter and just kept stating the matter would have to go back into the queue and they would call when they got to her. The whole lack of responding and lack of common sense customer service was very upsetting. Something that was supposed to be a lovely time for our daughters turned out to be such a disappointment. The lack of common sense from the team member in handling the situation was so disappointing. They very easily could have apologized and given a direct line for my daughter to call to voice her concerns. I would not recommend booking a stay there, the service is not comparable with the price you are paying and they lack the most basic common sense in dealing with customer service issues that might arise.

  Story Teller buffet is fun, Cannot comment on the resort.

  We did not stay at the hotel but went to the Story Teller buffet. If you have little ones, this is highly recommended. Food was decent but you go for the Disney characters.

  Loud weekend construction. DON’T STAY HERE!

  Warning!! I booked a 3 bedroom suite for the weekend of September 18th at over $3,000 a night. This family trip was months in the making for a special once-in-lifetime occasion. On Saturday morning at 8:15, heavy construction starts that woke me up! This is not a little noise. This is jackhammers early Saturday morning. Talked to weekend manager immediately. Apparently, they work on Sunday too!! There is no other suite available. Outrageous! They could have given us a suite on the other side of the hotel. They should not be using these rooms. After some discussion, they comp the room for both nights. But is that enough? A family trip was months in the making. To have everyone disturbed. It’s outrageous. Do not stay here!!!!!! Seriously. Find another hotel until the construction is done. Disney answers to a higher standard than other brands. They don’t just promise a room. They promise an emotion: it’s the Happiest Place on Earth. And this casts a pall on what was supposed to be a perfect weekend.

  Not a premium experience

  This is a premium hotel but honestly it was disappointing. Only positives were housekeeping (5 stars) and location (5 stars). The rest was a 2 star experience. 1) We did mobile check in but we did not get our room notification so went to the front desk and had to wait 20 minutes in line to get our room number. 2). Bell Services’s was horrible. Stood and waited on checkin and check out 30 minutes to get our luggage out of the back room. Not delivered but just hauled from the back to the lobby. While there are bell services employees just standing around. 3) They only serve black drip coffee at every restaurant. No cold brews, no espresso drinks, only black drip coffee. This is a premium hotel but not a premium experience. 4) beds are hard and uncomfortable. 5) bathrooms are tiny

  Beautiful luxury near the parks

  Stunning! We stayed in a first floor 1-bedroom villa with one full bath and one 3/4 bath. The full kitchen included a coffee pot with 2 packets of coffee in filters, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand towels. If you plan to cook and require plastic wrap or aluminum foil, you’ll need to bring it. There were ice cube trays in the freezer. The verandah opened to a wooded courtyard with 2 chairs and a small table (you can hear the park but cannot see it). Also included are a washer, dryer, and laundry soap. The lobby is gorgeous! Craftsmen style architecture is throughout the entire resort. The pools were great with very nice lounge chairs and attentive and friendly wait staff. You can enter Disney California Adventure Park directly from the resort. We will definitely be back!
