Extremely Disappointed…Absolutely Not Worth the Price

I have to be honest: I am extremely disappointed with our stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Staying here has been a dream of mine, and unfortunately, the reality has fallen very far short of what I expected from a resort with this reputation and price tag. At nearly $4,000 for a week, I expected our room to be absolutely pristine. Instead, we walked into a room that was dirty, stale, and appeared as though it had not been properly cleaned or occupied in quite some time. The closet was particularly disgusting. There was hair and dust everywhere, along with what appeared to be an old robe tie and even a mask that looked like it had been left behind since the COVID era. The floors were filthy, the counters were dirty, and there was toothpaste residue on the faucet. The mirrors had clearly been wiped quickly, leaving smudges all over them. This is simply not acceptable at any hotel, let alone one charging Grand Floridian prices. The housekeeping service was even more disappointing. We requested clean sheets the first night because we needed them for the daybed. Nobody ever brought them. The following day, we specifically requested housekeeping to come in, tidy and clean the room. Instead, someone came in, took the dirty towels and didn’t even leave clean towels behind. I then had to request housekeeping AGAIN to remove our trash. They did come, but somehow managed to leave trash that had fallen out of the wastebasket right on the floor. At that point, I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing. How is this acceptable at a resort that charges what the Grand Floridian charges? You are absolutely paying for the beautiful lobby, the Disney name, and the reputation of the resort. But once you get beyond that, our experience has not remotely lived up to the expectations or the price. Even the quick-service location is disappointing. It is far too small for a resort of this size, and unfortunately, it was also dirty. It feels as though the resort is relying heavily on its reputation rather than maintaining the level of cleanliness and service that should come with that reputation. I completely understand that my expectations were high. They should be. When you spend approximately $4,000 for a week at one of Disney’s flagship resorts, you should be able to expect a clean, well-maintained room and consistent housekeeping without having to repeatedly call and ask for basic necessities. I desperately wanted to love this stay. Instead, I am leaving feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated. This was supposed to be a dream stay, and unfortunately, it has been one of the biggest disappointments. And one final note to Disney: If you ever want to avoid another terrible review about cleanliness, feel free to call me. I’d be happy to teach your Cast Members how to properly clean, refresh, and inspect a hotel room before handing it over to a paying guest. Apparently, someone needs to. I AM SERIOUS.

    Magic moribund

Dismal stay. buildings are in need of update and cleaning. Loud pump running from a cart parked outside window - patio, covered in debris and bugs, bugs inside as well. Do not recommend

    Fabulous resort!

Just had a fabulous stay at the Grand Flo celebrating our anniversary. We come to Disney often and usually rotate between Grand Flo, Poly and Beach and Yacht club. Since this was our anniversary trip we decided on the Grand Flo this trip because we wanted a spa day and dinner at Victoria and Albert’s on our anniversary night. It was a fabulous stay in every way. The cast members treated us so well and really went out of their way to acknowledge our anniversary and make us feel special. They even sent some goody bags to our room with some merch and treats. I thought this was such a nice gesture and it was really appreciated that they went out of their way to do that for us. Our spa experience was top notch as well. It’s a beautiful spa and everyone was so kind and friendly and our massages were wonderful. The resort is gorgeous since the much needed refurbishments that have taken place. The rooms are so beautifully and smartly done. They are some of my favorite resort rooms on property. I love all the fixtures, lighting, and color scheme etc. I also find them to be some of the quietest rooms on property. I love that you can take a nice stroll over the Poly and get a dole whip and the walking path to the Magic Kingdom is a huge perk. Of course it is a monorail resort also but we much prefer to walk if possible. If you don’t mind walking you can even walk right over to the ticket and transportation center via the Poly and grab the monorail direct to Epcot there. Citricos is one of my favorite restaurants and again it is so beautifully decorated since the refurbishment. Narcoosees fell a little flat for me the last time I was there so we opted to skip that this trip. I will give it another try at some point because perhaps it was just an off night. The Grand Floridian cafe has an excellent brunch menu until 2:00. That is currently undergoing refurbishment so brunch is temporarily located at Citricos. We had an amazing brunch there this trip ( I added a photo of it) I separately reviewed Victoria and Albert’s and included photos from that as well. I can’t wait to see the newly designed Grand Floridian Cafe space! We aren’t big drinkers but The Enchanted Rose is such a beautiful lounge/bar you should definitely check it out if you are there even if you don’t drink. They have lovely non alcoholic options too! In conclusion, the trip and our experience at the Grand Floridian was just perfect and I highly recommend this resort. Thank you for the wonderful memories Grand Flo! ❤️

Family of 5, 2 weeks at Grand Floridian, first time at Disney World. Will be back!

Pros -The resort is stunning -Everything is extremely clean and well kept -Staff are all happy and helpful -We did 8 of the 14 character dining, Topolinos breakfast an excellent use of a single table credit, Cinderellas Royal Table also great and the only one to include service in the 2 table credits. -The monorail, boats and sky line all great fun and add to the experience. Magic kingdom so close and could pop in and out easily. -Disney is just great, the whole experience is fabulous. -West end quality shows, lion king at animal kingdom and beauty and the beast at Hollywood studios are fab. -Ride queues were manageable, rope dropping big rides also utilising parent swap worked well. -Food was generally good throughout. -excellent air con everywhere. -would definitely recommend and come back to Grand Floridian, the main hotel lobby is amazing and sitting on the sofas listening to the piano after a long day at a park with a nice drink is a real happy place :) Cons -Refillable cups no use outside the resort, no refill stations in parks and the fountain / tap water tastes and smells like sewage. Snack credits then used on bottled water. -Snack credits largely sweet / treat based, dining plan therefore not covering 3 meals a day. I see they have a deluxe dining plan, which includes 2 table service meals and a quick service per day not sure if this is new? -The single room was tight for a young family of 5, as kids get older just won’t work / be comfortable for a 2 week stay. No privacy. -No direct transport to either water park, getting 2 buses is not what you want on holiday, $20 6 seater uber not too bad. -The dining plan is challenging when you are used to all inclusive. We did maximise it by selecting the right meal times to avoid 2 dining credits, we also maxed out on expensive drinks and snacks etc. With service each table dining was costing us $70-80 on top of the dining plan which adds up after 14 days. -expensive alcoholic drinks everywhere. -The hotel could do with a kids club to give parents a break even for an hour or two.

    Luxury Disney style

We love the Grand Floridian. Since 2016 we have stayed here 5 times now. It has never disappointed. The staff bend over backwards for you. The Disney ambiance is just pure magic from the moment you check in " welcome home" to the moment you leave. We've stayed at our share of Disney Deluxe hotels now but we constantly keep returning here because really, from the location being ideal for magic kingdom to the rooms just being so beautiful why would we want to stay anywhere else. Historically we've stayed in everything from a studio to a 2 bedroom. This particular trip was a one bedroom ( there are only 3 of us usually) and we had plenty of space.
