  Horrible spiders and service no pest control came 2nd bite

  Beware of the dangerous spiders on decks, hotel did not send pest control waited until midnight, room not ready until 9 luggage 2 hours to get rented 2 bed suite high price for so many failures

  Grand Floridian Goodness

  With some recent Annual Pass Holder discounts decided to spend a couple of days at the GF. It was a very nice short stay. I liked our view of the pool area. Rm had 2 queens and a couch, pretty large room, balcony. I like the separated bathroom area so one can get ready if the other wants to shower or use the toilet. The room was clean, smelled fresh and felt like home. Lots of closet space. A bit larger rms than Yacht club, felt a lot like Boardwalk. Walking to main building for food or drinks is easy and getting to MK is a 15 minute walk or monorail or boat ride. Fun short visit.

  Beautiful stay with a lake view

  First stay at the grand Floridian, staying as a dvc member with points in the Villas building. A beautiful resort with clean, spacious beautiful rooms. The resort is spread out but it never felt too big, only a quick walk from the villas building to the main building and quick service. Super handy having the monorail available and a short walk to both the Polynesian resort and Magic Kingdom. My only negative was the lack of USB ports for charging in the villas. As a UK guest with only 1 US plug I struggled to plug everything in, the other dvc resorts I have stayed in had more USB ports with their plugs but it is a small complaint that did not affect my stay at all and I would absolutely go back.

  They tried to cancel our reservation

  I traveled to the Grand Floridian with my husband and our 18 month old. Having stayed in the past, I had my heart set on returning to this resort, especially for its accessibility to Magic Kingdom. We did all that was required for our stay- we booked 4 months in advance, paid in full 30 days out, and checked in on the app about 2 weeks before. We landed in Orlando just before 9pm, and I checked the app to see our room number hadn’t populated. As we were loading up our Uber, I missed a call from the hotel at 9:36pm. I then received an email telling me to come to the front desk at check-in. I thought this was odd since the app pushed keyless entry and the ability to head right to your room. As we arrived, we were told to sit down and the manager came over to tell us that they didn’t have a room for us due to an “engineering” issue and that we’d have to move to the Contemporary (which in our mind was not an even swap- evidenced by the fact that there were no rooms available at GF but seemingly plenty at Contemporary). We were completely shocked. Our questions went unanswered and while we were met with a lot of hollow apologies, there was no sympathy for us with all of our bags and a toddler who needed to get to sleep. We were told they tried to contact us earlier in the day and when I said I only had one missed call at 9:30, they admitted that was the only time they had tried to reach out. We kept pressing for a solution and were met with a lot of resistance to the point that it made us feel personally unwanted. We were told there were no rooms available and they had to put us in a theme park view room as we booked- we said we would be willing to downgrade views or even pay more for a club level reservation and were told no. We were then informed we’d have to move for the entire stay. We were confused how they could plan to check in guests on each of the following days of our stay but say there were no rooms *for us.* We finally negotiated to stay one night at the Contemporary and to be moved the following day back to Grand Floridian, which is what ultimately happened. It was a real hassle to get to that solution in a scenario that never should have happened in the first place. I never expected to be treated so poorly and to have every staff member respond with such apathy. Our night at the Contemporary was comped and we received a $500 credit. We did enjoy our room at the Grand Floridian but if that kind of management continues I’m not sure we’ll choose to stay there again.

  Beautiful Resort

  The Grand Floridian was as gorgeous as I expected (and I had high expectations). It was a beautiful hotel with renovated rooms, clean open spaces, beautiful pools, and amazing access to transportation around Disney World. My little one loved this experience. 1900 Park Fare Restaurant was also amazing.
