  Excellent stay at the Dolphin Cove

  First time in Freeport. We had an excellent time staying at the Dolphin Cove. The food was great. Everyone was super nice. Natasha at the front was so helpful. She answered all my questions and help us with renting a car. It was my friend’s birthday and Shannika was such a great help orchestrating the seating outside, the cake and the singing of Happy Birthday. If you are staying or you are near the Dolphin cove in the evening you have to go the whiskey bar. It’s a beautiful bar and Alice makes the best expresso martinis. She is a phenomenal bartender. Devon also made great old fashions. Finally Allison our waiter. Thank you for taking great care of us during our meals. Hope to see everyone soon. The only thing I will say. The place needs a bartender during lunch. You can only order beer or wine. Everything else was perfect.

  Exceptional Service and Beautiful Suites – A Freeport Gem

  ​I recently stayed at Dolphin Cove (May 1st–7th) and cannot recommend it highly into. I booked both the Governor’s Suite and a regular 2-bedroom unit. While the rooms themselves were stunning and well-appointed, the service is what truly sets this property apart. ​Due to availability, I couldn’t move into the Governor’s Suite until my second night. While I was away attending a funeral, the housekeeping staff—specifically Lashanta Lewis—went above and beyond. She expertly and carefully packed and transferred all of my belongings to the new suite so I didn't have to worry about a thing. ​The front desk team was equally impressive. Amanda provided top-tier service, and the rest of the front desk staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. If you are traveling to Freeport, Dolphin Cove is the place to stay.

  Jack hammering, drilling and banging

  There are two adjacent building sites that are jack hammering, drilling and banging from 7:30am each morning until 5:30pm. This appears to have been going on for some time but no mention on their website. Looks like it will be going on for several months. Breakfast on the balcony or a relax at the pool are only possible with headphones on, making it a very unrelaxing stay. Gym was good and many people we spoke to were staying on business, rather than on holiday. Short walk to the beach but no shops or restaurants apart from one in hotel and a bar at a nearby hotel.

  Fine dining and more

  The atmosphere was wonderful! We eat outside on the water it was quiet and beautiful The food was excellent and the staff even better! One of the best fine dining experiences we have ever had

  Read Recent Review: Report

  I stayed at Dolphin Cove from Thursday, July 10 to Friday, July 11. Once I walked into the lobby area, the furniture and décor were sophisticated, and check-in was easy and pleasant.  I was escorted to room 102, which the front-desk associate assured was one of their best rooms.  Upon entering the room, I was immediately impressed with its cleanliness and overjoyed to see a contemporary-styled and equipped kitchen area. The bed was comfortable, the sheets fresh, and bathroom clean too.    At approximately 10 PM, the power shut off. No generator was used to restart electricity. The room held a comfortable temperature still, though there was no air conditioning; of course charging my cell phone was out of the question. No one contacted me about the situation. During the black out, I made a phone call to each of the three numbers on the guest information pamphlets and left messages. I received no return phone calls or reply email.    The next morning, still there was no power.  On top of that, there was flooding on the bedroom floor.  At about 9 AM, I went to the reception lobby and spoke with Kim about our evening.  She explained that there was an island-wide power outage, and the Dolphin Cove had no generator.  I asked for compensation from the loss of services, but requests were declined.  Soon after, I checked out.     In reflection, there were great points about the Dolphin Cove:  the tidy guest room, upscale restaurant and bar, and helpful employees.  However, there was no power generator, no 24-hour lobby or on-site help, no communication system, and no swimming pool (as advertised). On top of that, the Dolphin Cove is not a conventional hotel; it is known for short- and long-term stays.   On July 23, I wrote Kenneth Brookes, the Managing Director, about my stay and he replied to my email within hours. He offered an apology and a credit toward a future stay.
