  Beautiful hotel and beach but not great service and HORRIBLE food. We tried to be gone from the resort as much as possible to avoid the service

  Please get your act together Hyatt!!!

  I have waited quite a while hoping the disappointment would wear off but it hasn’t so here we go…. The good…. Hands down the location and the beautiful beach. Bring water shoes as this resort has lots of coral. Great for snorkeling bad for the feet. Also the wonderful staff that will if at all possible go above and beyond. I will say the renovated room was also very nice but not a lot of time was spent in the room. The Bad…. The one and only pool was so cold nobody was in it. I am not sure if we were there on an off week or something but it was down right freezing even the youngsters didn’t swim. The down right ugly…. The restaurant food situation. Omg!! I can not stress enough how this needs to be addressed before anyone should book this resort! They claim they have all these restaurants but it is a flat out lie.. the buffet is open air and tiny so evening they set up in the parking lot/ reception pull up. It also has communal dining. Annatto never open and not even on the app the whole time we were there. TheTaquaria is a stand set up at the end of the buffet line. So not really a restaurant just an extension of the parking lot buffet. That leave 2 actual restaurants with limited opening days not even every other day but very limited. Lines and waits are very long to just get a table and when you do the service is SLOW. Not even island time slow. It is wishing you brought a snack from your room to tide you over between courses slow. So shame on Hyatt for not getting there act together and giving people what they are paying for. The management obviously needs a reality check and start hiring some more staff. People pay a lot of money to come on vacation and should not have to fight to get a meal. Or eat in the parking lot…

  Save your Money

  This experience was by far our WORST all inclusive experience to date. Over 1/2 the resort is closed? You can go to Secrets for meals, but that's adults only. Anyone traveling here with children is EXTREMELY limited on food options. There also isn't a bar or area you can just sit and relax at. The most unfriendly "family friendly" place we have experienced. The service is incredibly slow, plan on them opening 15-30 minutes after they're supposed to at every restaurant and bar. You have 3 people in your room? I hope you can all share one towel. They say they'll bring more later, but that takes a minimum of 3 phone calls (if your phone is working). Your mini fridge is empty? Yep, that's not going to change either. This isn't a staff issue, they were all extremely polite, this is a Dreams/Ownership issue. Literally the only thing that saved this vacation for us with the location of our room. We had a beach front swim out that was lovely. Everything else was a major disappointment. This is our first and last experience with Dreams. Save your money.

  Save your money, bad food service

  Our family vacation was completely ruined. We paid extra for the premium package expecting access to all amenities, especially since we were travelling with children. Unfortunately, this resort was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The rooms are outdated and poorly maintained. Our toilet didn’t work properly. We reported it several times—they would “fix” it for a day or two, then it would stop working again. The food was by far the biggest issue. The selection was extremely limited, both for food and alcohol. Many serving trays and plates sat empty and were not refilled. There was very little fresh fruit, and the quality of the food was poor. My children ended up eating pizza and pasta every day because there were almost no other edible options. Some of the fish was undercooked. What was most shocking was the hygiene. Birds, flies, and other insects were constantly flying over and landing on the food. In the heat, this felt completely unsanitary and unacceptable. The upstairs restaurant was especially disgusting. The experience was so bad that we regularly left the resort and went into town just to have decent meals at local restaurants. This was one of the most disappointing all-inclusive vacations we’ve ever had. It was a waste of money, and we would never return. Save your money and book somewhere else.

  Great Family Getaway

  Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this resort, especially for families with young children. One of the biggest highlights was the food. For an all-inclusive resort, the quality, variety, and presentation exceeded our expectations. Every meal was delicious, with plenty of options for different tastes, and the overall dining experience was excellent. This is a fantastic hotel for families traveling with small children. We traveled with a toddler and a baby, and the Explorer’s Club was one of the best parts of our stay. Our toddler absolutely loved it. The club offers a wide variety of activities, the staff was wonderful, and the operating hours were very convenient, giving parents some flexibility while knowing their children were having a great time. The beach is beautiful, with crystal-clear water and a gorgeous setting. The only downside is that the shoreline is quite rocky when entering the water, so water shoes are definitely recommended. Once you swim farther out, the rocks and seaweed disappear, making it much more enjoyable. Our room was comfortable, and the beds were excellent. However, we stayed in a Standard Tropical View room, and it felt noticeably more worn than other room categories. We visited family and friends staying in upgraded rooms, and although the furniture was essentially the same, those rooms looked much newer, brighter, and better maintained. In our room, the flooring looked old and stained, which unfortunately gave the impression that it wasn’t clean, even though it likely was. Updating the floors would make a significant difference in the overall appearance of these rooms. The only other area that could use improvement was the restaurant service. The waitstaff was consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help, but there simply weren’t enough servers for the number of tables they were responsible for. As a result, service was often slower than expected, both at the buffet and at the à la carte restaurants. This seemed to be a staffing issue rather than a reflection of the employees themselves. Overall, we had a great family vacation. The outstanding food, beautiful beach, comfortable beds, and exceptional children’s facilities made for a memorable stay. With some updates to the Standard Tropical View rooms and additional restaurant staff, the experience would be even better.
