Lovely resort
We just enjoyed a lovely 8 days at Dreams Jade in the first week of December. We stayed on the Preferred Club side and we were really looking forward to the adult only pool. The resort is a nice size, not too large, not too small. It’s well laid out and easy for people with mobility issues, elevators were always working and lots of ramps to avoid steps with a mobility device. The beach near the preferred pool side was really nice with a sandy bottom and not too many rocks. There was some sargassum seaweed here and there depending on the day and the tides but nothing horrible. It did not seem like a good snorkeling beach the water wasn’t too clear depending on the surf. We enjoyed the preferred adult only pool for the most part. You need to be up early if you want certain loungers. There were always lots of open loungers on beach also. Unfortunately while we were there a large group of rude, loud, and disrespectful guests made the preferred pool “less enjoyable”. They drank all day in the pool blocking one of the main stairs into the pool and basically did not leave the pool for hours and hours which made it feel like we were swimming in a big toilet as they weren’t leaving to use the facilities. Many guests complained but the staff did not deal with the issue…. Although I’m not sure what they could have done anyway. I was foolishly thinking an adult only pool would be peaceful and relaxing. Honestly the only way to avoid that situation is to designate that pool as the “quiet” pool and not serve alcohol at that pool. I have yet to find an all inclusive that has a peaceful no alcohol area for those of us looking for more of a wellness vacation. If you know of one please let me know 😊. Aside from that situation the preferred pool was very enjoyable and both Miguel and Julian do their best to accommodate and make everyone comfortable. The staff are all wonderful. The rooms and the maids were lovely and everything was always clean and tidy everywhere. You literally rarely see any garbage or dirty cups anywhere. The employees do amazing work and seemed genuinely happy everywhere. The air conditioning worked well as long as you keep your patio door closed/locked it works. We had a minor ceiling leak in our closet area in the bathroom and it was fixed and cleaned promptly. The food : We had room service for breakfast every morning which we ordered on the app the night before we went to bed. They were always on time with delivery time we chose. The buffet had lots of food but it was all mediocre at best. You will not starve but there was nothing that wowed us. We loved Miguel and his show at Spice restaurant for the Teppanyaki. He was so entertaining and amazing to watch, you must go there. Our next favourite restaurant was Capers the Italian restaurant - we went there twice as we enjoyed it so much. Our waiter Jaime took care of us and brought us extra dishes to try, he is great! The other restaurants were good but not great. My husband wore nice shorts and collared shirts and the “pants” rule for men was never enforced anywhere that we saw, which is nice because honestly it’s so warm, why would anyone wear pants? We really loved the layout of the resort and the facilities for the most part. I can say we may return, but with the exception of not really finding any peaceful “alcohol free” zones where we could avoid the guests just there to drink all day. We enjoy a drink later after dinner but really wanting to find a place that will capture the need for rest, relaxation and wellness. We will continue our search and maybe this resort will improve on that in the future. The best part of this resort are the employees and their attention to guests is superior to any of the all inclusive we have tried thus far.

We did a dolphin tour, which was great. Highly recommend Delphinus. Went to the marina and into town. Such a very nice area and the people were so helpful and kind. Lots of neat shopping . We used a taxi to get from hotel to Puerto morelos.

Not so nice staff
I honestly don't feel like this resort compares to some of the other ones in the area. The hotel is old.. There's a lot of really nice people that want to make your stay better, but most of the staff have sour faces and they're not accomodating. We stayed on the Preferred side which is supposed to feel more exclusive and the service was still not great (except for the servers at the lounge who where super nice and good at their jobs). I would never go back to this resort and I would definitely not recommend it either.

Good overall resort. Clean and entertaining
Nice resort. Positives were the amenities and shows. Some of the restaurants were very good. Please dont buy the upgrade dinner to the fires hsow. NOT worth 65 a person! You can watch the fire show without the extra dinner that wasn't good. We liked the basketball court and mini golf but being on the roof made it too hot to play during any part of the day so kids were bummed. Giant chess was cool. The pools were nice but it was a pain in the butt to get from one pool to the next or even to your pool chairs. Too many crossing bridges, it was a weird layout and not a straight shot anywhere. The beach was painfully rocky in the water. Large boulders and rocks made it hard to even throw a football in the water or walk in there. A shame, because the water is gorgeous here but you might sprain an ankle going in and at the very least cut some feet up. Rooms were small and had a dangerous sunken step from beds to sitting area. Careful if you drink alot! Food was good. The Mexican restaurant had great food, hibachi was different, pretty good, not the best one I've had but our chef was hilarious. Buffet was small and about the same every night. To get eggs it was a good 10 minute wait at breakfast. Clean, family resort. Overall, we enjoyed the place. I highly recommend the snorkeling you can book through the resort. 2nd largest reef in the world isn't far and it was incredible
