  Hyatt/UVC dropped the ball here

  Let me start by saying I would have given a slightly lower score had it not been for the hard working courteous Colombian staff that works here. Otherwise THE BRAND really needs to put a lot more effort into the location. I’ve been a UVC member since 2019 and a customer since 2013 for the most part I’ve always had an above average to amazing stay except for Dreams Cap Cana and now Karibana. Let’s start start with the room, though we had a master suite there were only the standard amenities ( soap, shampoo and conditioner) no scale, no iron or steamer no laundry service or the usual amenities like a shower cap, nail file etc. called for an iron and scale I got the iron and was told there were no scales available in the resort. Preferred club The staff was also great but the lobby bar had a better selection than the preferred bar but they charged for spirits that I’ve always received as part of my membership. The preferred breakfast was limited as were the daily snacks there. Also no one from UVC greeted us Food The buffet is small and limited in choices I can’t imagine how it would handle a full resort. Otherwise there’s a choice of 3 more restaurants. Oceana which requires a golf cart ride to get there the food was ok the Tiradito was not cold and raw fish should be served cold, dessert was a disappointment. Portofino was the best but required a reservation even though everytime we walked past there were tables empty Seaside grill was also okay but my cousins got sick from we believe was the pork sliders . The churrasco was poorly cooked with a lot of grissle, the rib eye was also full of grissle. The bars were all really good , Teddy, Edgar and Nestor at the preferred pool took Great care of us and the bar made the best Margaritas Vanessa and Giovanni and Ana at the lobby bar also amazing Michelle at the towel station was very sweet and courteous ( even though having to leave a card for a towel was annoying) Overall the staff was amazing and is working with what they were given the resort is in complete disrepair and needs tons of attention so the hard working staff can shine even more

  Feria on the pool

  Feria was very nice for children ! My boy enjoy a lot specially Kayak it was his first time ! Girls were very attentive ! Evelin and her partner ! We love that activity

  It was great but if you don’t speak Spanish not English .. good luck

  Pros: quiet, good food, clean,not to far from the airport, friendly employees, great choices of food deliver at your room, free transport to Carthagena. Easy check and check out. No mosquitos. Had to pay 90 US tax fees entry at the airport. No Air Transat employee at the hotel. The employees speak mostly Spanish . Few restaurants on site, forgettable beach Recommandation:If you’re travelling with Air transat , book your excursions before. There’s no Air transat at the hotel. You can use the app Viatore

  Dreams Karibana Cartagena

  Our trip to Dreams Karibana Cartagena was definitely one to remember! ❤️ The staff and entertainment team were FANTASTIC and made our stay even better! Huge shoutout to our bartender Oscar 🍹, our wonderful World Café host Marcella ❤️, and Rubie from the Entertainment Team 🎉! Thank you for taking such great care of us and making our vacation so much fun! And the World Café buffet...YUM! 😋🍽️ The food was AMAZING! Honestly, we enjoyed the buffet even more than the restaurants on the resort. There was always something different to try, and everything was delicious! Another beautiful experience and another country full of memories! 🇨🇴☀️🌴
