  An Amazing Family Vacation We Will Always Remember

  My wife, my son, and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dreams Karibana Cartagena. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. This vacation exceeded our expectations, and we left with memories that our family will cherish for a very long time. The resort itself is beautiful, clean, relaxing, and very family-friendly. We enjoyed the pools, restaurants, buffet, bars, activities, and the overall atmosphere. There was always something for us to do, but we could also simply relax and enjoy being together as a family. What truly made our experience exceptional, however, was the staff. Their warmth and hospitality made this resort special. Marylius at the buffet was wonderful. Giovanni and Vanessa at the front entrance bar always greeted us warmly and provided excellent service. Ines at the pool bar was fantastic, and Fabier deserves special recognition because he seemed to be everywhere—from the pool area to the buffet—and was always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. Coral was also wonderful with the kids and helped make the experience special for our son. And we cannot forget Johnny. He was there when we first arrived to welcome us and help with our luggage, and somehow he was there again when it was time for us to leave, helping us with our bags once more. It was fitting that one of the first friendly faces we saw upon arriving was also one of the last we saw when leaving. There were many other staff members who treated us wonderfully whose names I unfortunately cannot remember. To all of them: thank you. Your kindness did not go unnoticed. The food was very good, the drinks were great, and we enjoyed the variety of restaurants and options available throughout our stay. But ultimately, it was the people and the hospitality that made Dreams Karibana stand out. We came to Cartagena looking forward to a family vacation. We left feeling that we had experienced something truly special. Would we recommend Dreams Karibana? Absolutely. Would we return? Without hesitation.   Extremely Disappointed

  Extremely Disappointed!!!!! I’m writing this review in real time because I have never been this disappointed in a resort as a whole. The food has been subpar at best. Honestly, the only food I’ve genuinely enjoyed during my stay has been the wings at the pool. That alone says a lot about the overall dining experience. The Preferred Club is a total waste of money and a complete ripoff. Other than the private check-in, I have found essentially none of the advertised benefits to be worthwhile. There was no welcome drink, and the in-room bar was stocked with one small bottle of rum at check-in. Other than that, you get Pringles and some chocolate candy. That hardly justifies the additional cost. The swim-out suite itself is huge and has a lot of potential. The space is nice, but it definitely needs to be updated and refreshed. Unfortunately, the positives end there. Between the disappointing food, underwhelming Preferred Club experience, and overall lack of value, I simply cannot recommend this resort. I came in expecting a much better experience and have been extremely disappointed

  You could use your money better on another place

  Dreams Karibana fell far below expectations. Despite the resort’s marketing, the overall experience felt closer to a budget hotel than a premium property. We paid for the Preferred upgrade, but it added no real value …in fact, it made several parts of the stay more frustrating. The Preferred check‑in was disorganized enough that we had to check in twice. Staff barely acknowledged the upgrade, and the perks were underwhelming. Premium liquor was limited to one bar, and the Preferred breakfast was noticeably worse than the regular buffet, with fewer choices and poor food quality. The concierge service was equally disappointing. When we asked for help securing a reservation at the only restaurant that requires one, we were told to walk over and handle it ourselves. It’s hard to understand why a concierge exists if they can’t assist with basic tasks. Service across the resort was consistently weak. At the Beach Club, our soup arrived without a spoon even after requesting one twice. Small issues like this added up, especially because many employees seemed irritated by simple requests. It often felt like guests were an inconvenience. There were a few standout staff members who delivered excellent service — Antonio (Beach Club), Jose (Lobby Bar), Dilson (Pool Bar), Paula (Portofino), and Carlos (Seaside Grill) — but they were exceptions. Room cleanliness was also an issue. On the first night, we found an insect that resembled a cockroach in the room. The hotel did respond with a deep cleaning, but the initial discovery was unpleasant. In the end, the problem wasn’t isolated mistakes , it was the overall attitude and lack of service throughout the resort. Food quality varied, service was often poor, and the Preferred package was absolutely not worth the extra cost. I would not recommend Dreams Karibana, and I especially would not suggest paying for the Preferred experience.

  Lowest experience at high moderate price

  Poor food quality and variety. Hotel with good amenities and infraestrucutre but poor breakfast, lunch and dining options
