    Enjoyed every minute.

Went for a destination wedding and do not regret it. The resort is immaculate, beautiful and all the staff were very accomodating and eager to be helpful. There were plenty of selections for dining. Activities I enjoyed were beach Yoga, pool aerobics and of course the swim up bar. They have the whole tropical-all inclisive thingfigured out.

Just when we thought it couldn't get worse....

We are a simple family. We don't travel much. We don't have high expectations. Even so we had a horrible experience at this resort. The AC didn't function in our room. Nor did the television. We are really only in the room to sleep so we tried to make do. We called the front desk for help several times, but no one came. We were supposed to have the preferred room (that's what we paid for) but we were downgraded to basic because preferred wasn't available. The food was not good. It was served cold in many cases. The employees were downright rude. We stayed at another resort before we got here and it was SO MUCH BETTER. We can assure you that this is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality and price. You'd be happier at any other resort than this.

    Fantastic hotel and staff!

We have returned from 2 weeks at Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica. Here is an overall review and some hints and tips too. Flew from UK with TUI. Overall an amazing holiday, fantastic hotel, staff super efficient and helpful. Big shout out to Michelle waitress at lower pool, Evelyn and the other lady (wears brown attire) who both clean at lower pool and toilets. Unsung hard workers!!! If you tip please consider these people as well as the obvious front service staff! App - get the Hyatt international app. Info and can raise queries, book room service etc all through this. Hike - we did the 8.15 morning nature hike with Antonio. Take sunscreen, bug spray, water and trainers. Hot, hilly in parts and dusty underfoot. Worth it for views at top!! Pool - we booked cabana 10 for every pool day and was so worth it for guaranteed area and also shade. Ocean view and close to amenities. Recommend you book in advance via concierge email. Not noisy. Only niggle which I raised with concierge was on a few of the days other people didn’t seem to realise the loungers and umbrella adjacent were also booked…trying to reserve with towels and their belongings. The pool staff would move them but often weren’t there when they came along and on 2 occasions had 2 quite passive aggressive people having a go at us. Mentioned to staff they need to somehow make more obvious these are already booked out and not available as little sign on umbrella clearly isn’t enough. Pool volleyball in lower pool great laugh- mix of nationalities, ages and abilities!! Drinks - imperial beer, Prosecco/sparkling wine, Green Monster, Dirty Monkey all our favourites! Beach - nice beach to go along. Some vendors including operators and masseuses asking if you want anything but they are polite and respectful if you decline. We did jet ski on beach for 30 mins. Also hubby had great massage with Angie Zapata. Room - 5728 in building 5, floor 7. Tropical (trees) view and we did get occasional monkey on the balcony without being taken over!! Super clean, serviced everyday, mini fridge restocked. Non-preffered and we didn’t feel we lost out on anything. Room service prompt and nice food. Double beds not quite a double - so hubby had to share with daughter as one bed not quite big enough for 2 average sized adults. Recommend getting extra roll out if 3 or more of you to accompany king or double double. Food - French (bistrot) by far the best - not on app or map and open most nights. Round by teen hangout / past desires club before head downstairs. World cafe buffet generally good. Any specialty restaurants you really need to be there by 5.45 to get in on first sitting. Unless you are content with getting a buzzer and being called when next in line. Worth a trip out to El Indio off site - they collected and returned us. Best steak we ever had. Coconuts - fresh at beach bar 10am but go quick. Down to beach and right behind Amstar hut. Excursions - did 3; 1) Nicaragua day, 2) sloth and waterfall day - both with Ulf Halbgebauer Briceño Real Tours . 3) transport with Amstar to Palo Verde and just asked them to do this and book boat trip to see crocs. Would recommend any of these. Overall fantastic place, great experience and staff really good. But if you do have any issues, speak to the concierge as they will do what they can to help.

    A tropical Oasis of luxury

Stunning views of Playa El yobo and lush rainforest (where you will see monkeys). * note about the monkeys: don't leave food on your patio otherwise you will be greeted in the morning by monkeys eating the leftovers! Every Balcony or terrace is adorned with a relaxing hot tub and we totally made us of it. 8 restaurants and we’ve tried them all! Highly recommend getting up early so you can have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the resort and beach. Don’t worry about making reservations but if you want to, you can. If you’re stay for5-7 days, you can easily try all of them at least once. My sister and I traveled here so we can both say it’s ideal for couples and families seeking relaxation and adventure in a tropical paradise! Ultimately, any resort can be world class, beautiful, clean and dream like but it was the staff here that made our stay the best it could be. The staff were so attentive, always on their toes making sure no guest was left alone. One server taught me the proper way to eat rambutan (a fruit) because I was really struggling with it lol They offer yoga on the beach in the mornings (I was the guest teacher for the week)! You may also find "friends" in the early morning (like the pictured racoon) who wanted my cortado from Coco cafe. I told him to get his own.

    Family Spring vacation

Very relaxing week spent here with extended family. Pools were great, service excellent and staff always seemed cheerful and friendly. Very large resort/lots of walking. Beach not the greatest,so spend most of time poolside. Pool service was very good, but you have to arrive early to get a good lounge chair. excursions offered by resort were good, but pricey. The restaurants were just average, the best one was the Japanese sushi. Overall a nice/relaxing week.
