Good for families with littles. But so your research
It’s a lovely resort. Grounds are beautifully kept up. Staff are nice (although most don’t volunteer an hola when they pass you - which is different than other resorts). I come to DR once or twice a year so lots of experience at resorts here. This one has an odd layout - tons of stairs without handrails. Many of the restaurants not accessible under cover so a total drag with the rain. Beach is nice We weren’t bothered by the waves. We stayed in a villa which was perfect for a family. What I didn’t like: Taco food truck was total let down. The pork tacos we were pretty sure were cubed spam🤢. Drinks were the most watered down I’ve ever had. All frozen drinks came from a slushy machine. No drink was made the same from one bar to another. Most bars only had well liquor. The biggest issue was the number of restaurants closed for weddings. They should have designated dining options for weddings. The rest of us that paid $12k for a four night stay would have preferred more dining options. I wouldn’t come back and would only recommend this resort to someone who has nothing to compare it to.

We don't like to leave Negative Reviews ever, but this was Nessacary...
Beautiful Location, Lovley Rooms, Very Clean, and Stunning Grounds. Unfortunately this Hotel is a Wedding Factory!!. We watched 8 weddings whilst here for 10 days. A staff member had told us 13 weddings had took place.... With weddings come Stags/Batchelor Party's. Drunk, Loud, Screaming Men by the pools, the Bars and in the restaurants. The service In the Restaurants was DREADFUL.. We waited 30/40 mins for a Menu one night... 30 Minutes for a Drink the other night, eventually I had to leave the restaurant to go and fetch our own. We was served our Starter, 2 minutes before our Mains in the Mexican. Forcing us to abandon our starters to make room for the mains on the tables. Unless you're willing to Tip $10$20 dollars everytime you go to the bar, expect to wait 15 minutes minimum for a drink EVERYTIME. There are some wonderful Staff around, but overtime these niggles really put a damper on your holiday. The restaurant staff in the evenings are awful, and nothing compared to the Daytime staff I.e waitresses/cleaners, entertainment team. We came as a family of 6. Some in our 30', parents in our 60's. And had a wonderful time regardless, we just got on with it and made the most of our time. However having gone to the sister hotel in 2023 (Dreams Flora), this place was inferior.... we wouldn't come back.

Amazing!
This place was such a DREAM! We traveled with our two kids (12 and 6) and they both had an amazing time! We did stay in the preferred club and to us it was worth the price! We loved the options of eating breakfast, lunch and dinner at Oceana as preferred when they were open. Having the Coco Cafe right below us was such a treat! Brian who was always there in the morning was a sweetheart! He quickly learned my go to order every morning and always greeted me with a smile! We mostly relaxed at the infinity pool because it was our favorite spot! Yolonda and Narquin at the barracuda bar went above and beyond! They had us hooked on strawberry margaritas and always had one ready when we needed one. Julio at the world cafe always took good care of us during breakfast. Our butler, Alejandro was outstanding! We didn’t need him very much but he always went out of his way to come find us at the pool every morning just to say hi and see if we needed anything. We highly recommend this resort. I am an avid review reader and some of the reviews I would take with a grain of salt. We didn’t expedience the issues or MINOR inconveniences that people have complained about.

Exceptional service!
Wonderful experience at Dreams Macao Beach. 10 nights here and we were spoiled and treated like royalty. Wherever we turned there was someone who greeted us, asked how they could help or just started a conversation. Food was good but not great. Some restaurants excelled more than others but all had exceptional service. Cafe open 24 hours as well as room service was a nice touch. Ocean front was gorgeous for lounging and swimming. Pools are great . Especially the preferred club pool

Top Notch Resort
From the time we stepped onto the property until the time we departed, our expectations were beyond what we expected. Travelling with a large group, including children, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Beach is beautiful & the waves were fun but be cautious. The hotel, restaurants, beach, pool, service etc. were all exceptional. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit this absolutely beautiful property.
