    Nice 4 night get away!

A very nice 4 night get away! Stayed in the Preferred Club level - the Preferred lounge and pool offered a nice place to retreat to when we wanted a little more quite and relaxed atmosphere. Access to the Bluewater Grill for breakfast was very enjoyable. The food at Portofino and Bordeaux was excellent. All of the staff throughout the resort were friendly and helpful. The resort is big enough to offer choices but not so big that you need a shuttle to get around like some other resorts. The only downside was they listed snorkeling as an available activity but they do not have any gear and the area was not conducive to snorkeling. If we returned to resorts, we would return to this one.

Beautiful landscaping, awesome staff, and top-notch spa services.

Beautiful property and landscaping everywhere! The flora and fauna around the property are astounding! There is some wear and tear in the rooms but for the most part they are in good condition. All of the staff was extremely friendly, and willing to help at the drop of a hat. And some were so, so, much fun! If you're an adults only kind of person this is not the place for you. The kids pool, the regular pool, and the adults only/preferred pool were all right next to each other. And there were a LOT of kids! It was very family friendly. But us adults only couples who stayed (there were 9 of us in total) had a super great time here! There's not much of a beach and the regular pool got very crowded (would definitely recommend upgrading to a preferred room or at least a private swim-up room, that way you'll always have a place to sit and put you towel and stuff). The spa services delivered above and beyond. Our group all did at least one spa day, some of us did two! Again, we all had such a good time! Would definitely recommend.

    Not what we expected

Was ever disappointed in pools. Kids run wild at swimup bar its sad bartenders making all kinds of kids drinks not with adults? Up charge for adult only pool which is quite and no swimup bar or view very boring. Not sure why the pool with bar is not adult only? Beach was well looked after was nice sandy shore line. But not mean chairs or umbrellas. And wedding can take over pool area and beach so beware. Food was ok lots of options

Excellent hotel and tequila tasting class.

Hotel close to airport, beach does not have much seaweed, overall great hotel. Beach not as nice as Cuba. Alex did a great tequila tasting.

Better for pool loving adults who have a preferred club membership.

We were here November 2025 for a wedding. We were a group of 35 with 4 small children under the age of 2.5 For starters, the first 2 days we were here, we were not able to get chairs at the pools - 35 of us shared 2 chairs. The rest of the week we had multiple people go down early to get chairs and take turns sitting in them while others went for breakfast. On top of this, they would kick you out of the pool deck areas if they were setting up for weddings in that area - further limiting your areas of seating. This is a wedding focused resort and there was one every day we were there. It was also very difficult to get dinner reservations for earlier than 8pm (you're not going this late with small kids!). They use an app to book and release time slots 2 days in advance so you're basically only eating at the buffet your first 2 days here. The hotel also set off fireworks for a wedding at 10:50 one night without any prior warning to the guests - this woke up many of us who instantly thought we were under attack (it was that loud!). The beach was groomed daily, however the water had a lot of debris from the neighboring mangroves, and the only day I was able to swim in the ocean (it was very windy all week), I found lots of sharp rocks on the ocean floor. Definitely more of a pool resort, so avoid if you prefer the ocean. They have a Preferred Hyatt members only pool and restaurant access that never seemed to have an issue with seating. I hate when places do this, it's so segregating and basically says "we treat people with more money better". The things I enjoyed about this resort: the drinks were excellent and I loved that they used re-usable plastic cups, not the single use throw aways. The beach sand was white and beautiful. The food was really good. The entertainment in the lobby nightly was never disappointing. The free zip-lining was pretty neat and the water slides were fun!
