Dec 02, 2025Amazing resort - Recommended for Weddings
Went with a large group for my brothers wedding. This resort specializes in weddings and does an amazing job at it. Besides the wedding services, the actual resort was amazing. The food and service were top tier. Nothing felt pushy or forced. We were over fed every day to the point that we couldn't eat any more amazing food by the end of our stay. The beach was great even with the sargassum that was on the beach the first few days. Our butler Aris always did his best to be present while not overbearing, he did an amazing job at making sure any of our asks were taken care of. There was so many activities and amazing entertainment. The waterpark and lazy river were a nice change of pace from the beach or the pools. Access to breathless next door was also great for after dinner activities with the adults. Casino and Disco were visited multiple times. Highly recommend this resort for a vacation or if you are looking for an amazing wedding venue the only con is the shuttle, when we needed it (day of the wedding and check out) it took multiple calls to get it to come. This was a sore point but was not at our butlers or groups fault. Shuttles are NOT reliable so keep that in mind.

Amazing Family Experience
Incredibly welcoming atmosphere, great facilities from pools to rooms and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff, everyone greets you with hello (hola) or good morning, including landscaping and housekeeping staff. A great place to travel with children, lots for them to do, and plenty of options for food, even for the picky ones. Would definitely return! Avoid the "Welcome Breakfast", it's a presentation by Unlimited Vacations, it was the only negative in a sea of fabulous positives.

The resort is perfectly good for families with children. The pools are on the smaller side. If there was another pool with warmer water, it would have make it a five star stay. The food is on average, but the rooms are awesome.

Perfect Resort Choice for Families
We did a family holiday vacation at the Dreams Onyx over Thanksgiving. This resort was a perfect choice for us. We had 8 adults and 8 children ages 7-13. So many positive things to say about the resort so I just listed some that stand out for us. Sooo clean!! You did not see dirty dishes, wet towels, bugs, trash etc anywhere!! The beach was very nice. Lots of chairs available. The kids had a scuba diving lesson and short dive in the ocean. Loved no towel cards. Chasing down towels with kids can be a nightmare. Plenty of towels and beach chairs. Lazy River was awesome as were the pools. We did not do the preferred but really didn’t see much difference. We didn’t have a butler but our room was cleaned and stocked every day. EVERY employee was absolutely friendly and accommodating to each family member. The tween girls loved getting smoothie drinks 🍹 from the bar and every waitress and bar tender treated them like princesses. They LOVED it. The Carnival buffet had a great selection of food and seated us (16) together every time. Their service was stellar. I loved the buffet layout….didn't feel like a school cafeteria. From check in to check out it was flawless. I loved the interaction of each team member with the guests but also with each other. Lots of smiles, laughter and singing. It just felt like a family. The resort had so much to offer for young kids and teens but our family didn’t have time to check everything out. We were very happy with this resort. Beautiful, clean and friendly. It’s going to be hard to top this one ☝️

Excellente
We have stayed many times. Great resort. Nice, long, and uncommercialized beach area to walk. Really fun waterpark with music, bar, and lazy river. Felix, the bartender, is excellente. Enjoyed pool volleyball and exercises. Exchange privileges with Breathless are a real plus for night time entertainment.
