  Nice hotel…. Not for families with young kids

  We stayed at Dreams Onyx for 10 nights a family of 5. There are lots of positives about the hotel, it is very clean and well maintained. The food is good, the French restaurant was outstanding (Mecure) we went there a couple of times. The buffet has lots of choice and variety, and was really delicious. Drinks were really good at all bars not watered down. What I would say is the staff really make this hotel what it is, friendly fun and very helpful. Felix at the pool bar was particularly friendly and always happy. There are a few negatives, one being the “preferred club”, I do feel like it is sort of separating class in a way. We paid like many others an awful lot of money to stay at the hotel in the summer holidays, however if you want any to use some of the other facilities and book restaurants you have to be in the preferred club. If you don’t book you have to wait unless there is a table free, we were lucky enough to get a table because we ate early on. However when the restaurant is busy, later on in the evening there were alot of people waiting for table. Basically because the hotel wants to make even more money out of you to “book a reservation etc”. The second thing which puts us off returning, is I feel the hotel is trying to be too many things at once and it doesn’t work. There is an adults only area; a splash pool and the main pool. It is very very rowdy around the splash pool, lots of big groups and party goers. The slides unfortunately young kids cannot use, you have to be 1.5 meters to use them. It Is unfortunately the same in the main pool, gets very rowdy big groups of party goers. They have also opened up a night club for after 11pm so I assuming this is the lane the hotel is going down. In summary nice hotel, no real problems just not for us as a family. It didn’t feel family friendly, I was more concerned about my kids being in the pools than I have ever been at any other hotels before, because of the atmosphere. Thank you Dreams Onyx for a lovely stay but not somewhere I’d recommend for families to go unfortunately.

  It was a very nice family vacation experience

  The resort was beautiful. The people the food and all the employees were very nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would definitely go back with my husband and kids. They all had a blast. Love that they have a bar in each building and when u need room service they come right away. The waiters by the pool like Daniel made us feel welcome everyday. Also I wanna say Sharina from the pool entertainment was awesome. Was very nice to me and my whole family.

  Great stay for families

  This is an excellent place for kids and adults. Food was better than expected and the staff is very accommodating. We did preferred club and the additional support was worth it.

  Jumi will make your holiday! Fantastic service!

  We are here now! Having the best time & don’t want to go home. Jumi at the waterpark pool bar has made our stay fabulous! Absolutely made our kids holiday, her service is next to none, what a lovely lady! 2 days left and she is one person we will never forget! A real asset to Dreams Onyx! Can’t thank her enough ❤️ Rooms amazing, food lovely & something for everyone, clean, beautiful resort!

  Food allergy friendly resort

  Dreams Onyx was great for our family vacation. The place was beautiful and well maintained. We were concerned with how our child’s food allergies would be handled. But staff was amazing. In our first full day at the buffet we met with Santo and Isabel from the Food Concierge team. He took us around the buffet and pointed out all the safe foods to eat and what to avoid. We were provided with a food allergy card to show when getting food. He would message everyday on Whatsup to see how we were doing and help coordinate dinner to make sure we were well taken care of. It made the vacation that we didn’t have to worry about food allergies. We were so impressed with that level of care and service. Thank you Santo!!!!
