Beautiful Panama!
We spent a week here and loved it. Very quiet resort so if you want entertainment look elsewhere. Yes the resort is dated but I had a very lovely room with all the amenities. Not lacking at thing. It is a bit dated and can use some basic renovations. The staff was friendly and eager to help in anyway. We booked preferred so had access the preferred pool. Giving a shoutout the the bartender Eric and the waitress Abby. They were excellent. Look for Willie or Jose and have them show you the sloths. Check in was a bit slow but they had a glass of wine for us while we waited. I loved all the restaurants. No reservations needed and no wait. Special shoutout the Kathleen the hostess. She is such a sweet girl and we loved visiting with her. All in all..a wonderful experience.

Horrible
Dirty rooms & missing basic amenities in the room eg hair dryer, TV remote, iron and ironing board. Towels were skimp and appear old and dirty. Please don't pay higher for a Preferred Club room for it's NOT worth it. We got a preferred room and we got nothing not even the basic so for anyone to cough up more money for this is offensive. Most of Ala cart restaurants have poor service and food quality was not the best. This resort is old and you can tell they did not make any effort to remodel the rooms. The buffet restaurant is only open for breakfast and the service and food quality there is not that great either. Not enough staff, dishes are not always replenished and when they do, it's not clean. Entertainment at night is dismal. They don't have a separate theatre, they use the pool area for entertainment and they don't always have one. Since not many restaurants are open all the time, your options are very limited for the 3 meals. Even the barefoot grill for hamburgers were horrible. The hamburgers were cook ahead of time so they sat there cold and the cheese they put on top was also cold and not even heated. Someone needs to train the cooks they hire. Only saving grace is location and view.

Ignore the Karen's.
We are currently spending 10 days at Dreams and it is our 7th today. We can assure weary travelers that the negative reviews are not true at all. It's all in the perspective of privileged people that only contribute negative reviews. Food, staff, rooms, resort grounds and pools are fantastic. You are on vacation so lighten up and enjoy it.

Not worth the $$ spent...
The employees made this experience bearable. Eric,Abigail,Denis,William,Jose,Charity,Cindy and Kathleen all stand out!!!The food was awful, very little selection, no selection for kids, even tho we were VIP. Our room was clean but the whole resort needs a makeover, for the most part it's very tired. The main infinity pool is beautiful, but the VIP pool is falling apart and needs a good cleaning. Based on this Dreams property we will never spend the money on another location.

Dreams Playa Bonita Panama
Pros: staff was friendly, rooms and balconies were spacious compared to some other places we have been, balcony views were great, grounds were pretty- lots of flowers, big pools, rooms were clean. Cons: seemed most of the buffets and restaurants were understaffed compared to other places we have been. The whole resort needs some updating/upgrades. It’s an older resort but cheap to stay so you get what you pay for. Food is a 4/10. Some of it was good, but most mediocre and not a lot of options. Other guests who have stayed at other Dreams properties said the other ones give more of a “luxury” feel while this one gives “budget”. Random thoughts: if you speak Spanish you have a big advantage. We don’t speak hardly any so sometimes communication was hard as English is a second language for the staff- that being said they were kind and understanding and we made it work. The hair dryers are not strong so as a woman, if you have extensions or alot of hair bring your own that is more high powered. Uber works great here and is very cheap compared to the U.S. use that instead of booking transportation via trip advisor or viator. Not a big party resort- families and couples. Not a lot of nightly entertainment/shows compared to other places we have stayed that put on a full blown production every evening. Definitely more of a quiet relaxed vibe at this resort. Alcohol: if you want better alcohol choices you have to upgrade to the preferred club when you book- and that alcohol is only available in the preferred club on the second floor, and at the adult only preferred club pool bar. The only alcohol in your room is three shooter size bottles and some canned local beer in your mini fridge. They do not have full size bottles of alcohol in your room like some other resorts do. Accessibility: if you have issues with mobility I would make sure you bring a walker or wheelchair. The rooms are far from the pools depending on where your room is. And there are only two elevators for one whole wing of the resort. But they are right next to each other right off the lobby. There are about 40 rooms per floor so if you are in a higher number room, you are very far from the elevator. Location: about 40-50 mins from Tocumen airport depending on traffic.
