    Wonderful getaway!

Eleuterio was a fantastic server and the food was delicious at Bordeaux. All of the food was good at the different restaurants. A great getaway!

Disappointing Stay at Dreams Sapphire – Would Not Return

Disappointing Stay at Dreams Sapphire – Would Not Return We’ve stayed at multiple Dreams resorts, and unfortunately, this one ranks at the bottom of our list. I don’t think we’ll be returning, nor would we recommend it to others. Pros: Large pool and fun water park Generally friendly staff (with the exception of the hostess at the front desk at the Asian restaurant) Food was decent overall Cons / Major Issues: Asian restaurant was a letdown. We tried the hibachi table and the meats and vegetables were nearly burned. It seemed like the chef was new—he kept attempting utensil tricks, but they kept flying out of his hands! Very outdated facilities. The TVs, safe lock boxes, HVAC system, and other room features clearly need upgrades. Bugs everywhere — indoors and outdoors. This was the worst part of the stay. You couldn’t open the front door or patio doors without mosquitos and insects rushing in. Sitting outside was impossible because the patios and walkways were swarmed. Even inside the rooms, mosquitos were on the walls and ceilings. We stayed with multiple families, and every room had the same issue—not just ours. I understand there was a lot of recent rain, but proper pest control should be expected at a resort of this level. Poor lighting around the resort. Most walkways were extremely dark at night, and we constantly had to use our phone flashlights to see where we were going. This resort has potential, but until they address the bug problem, upgrade their facilities, and improve safety and dining consistency, I’d suggest choosing another Dreams location instead.

    Amazing wedding and stay!

We had our wedding here and I must say our wedding planner Veronica not only met our expectations but surpassed them. I’m so glad she was there to help us the entire way! Hotel was great staff was amazing. Annie the booking agent made sure everyone was ready to travel and the entire week went off perfectly. Definitely a place to stay!

    Think twice

This is a Hyatt hotel and I expected better! I have vacationed to Mexico numerous times- easily more than 10 or 12 times in the last 15 years. We enjoy staying at different properties to shake it up. My first experience with this property was receiving emails to upgrade my room for a 25% discount and check-in early for $100 (as early as 6 am). However, I booked through Expedia and my reservation was a VIP stay which includes a room upgrade and an early check-in. There is no way the property was even close to being full. We arrived at 12:15 pm and they said the room was not ready. I explained I was VIP and should receive the upgrade and early check-in. We went and had lunch then came back. Long story shorter- we ended up waiting until 2:30 for our room to be ready and check in normally is at 3, so no early check-in. Our room upgrade was supposedly a garden view but really was a view of another building and some trees. We were located in the furthest building from the amenities and I have children, so that was very unfortunate. We ordered room service a few times and not once did they get it right. One morning I ordered coffee and it came ice cold. Another meal we ordered pasta and there was no silverware. We had to call them three times and it took 2.5 hours for the forks to come- by that time we had gone to the buffet and were asleep when they came. Service was slow at all restaurants. To restock the minibar it took several phone calls each time. There was no drink service at the pools or at the beach- you have to physically go up to the bar to order drinks. The beach was pretty but water was nasty due to the seaweed in the water- it was a red color. This hotel would be great if they got their stuff together and had better service. The amenities were nice. You haven to pay to rent their paddle boards and kayaks, when most hotels offer for free.

    Family Vacation

We went with family to celebrate 2 birthdays. We have been to multiple all inclusive resorts and though this one was nice it was lacking in many areas. First the cons...The landscaping was not good grass that needed cut, trees and bushes not trimmed etc. This took away from what could have made it more beautiful. The mosquitos were crazy bad and they do not spray. Multiple people complained about this. Our room had water pouring out of the ceiling and rather than the hotel offering to move us to another room my husband had to insist on us getting another room. I had requested to have a birthday cake delivered to my son's room and his door decorated. This never happened until after 2 trips to the concierge when at 8p a slice of cake was delivered. I was very disappointed in their customer service or should I say the lack of customer service. The pros.... The food in all the restaurants was very good as was the wait staff. The waiter sang Happy birthday to my son in the most beautiful voice ever. Joaquin the bartender in the preferred club was first class. He was not only excellent at his craft but was all about being personable and kind. He should be your role model for customer service. The pools were clean and spacious and wait staff there worked very hard. A nice touch in the restaurants is if you have small children they bring their food out first! Despite the issues I mentioned we had a great week making memories!
