Oct 26, 2026Great Getaway
Food was excellent. Room was excellent. Swim up Bar was full of kids sitting on stools while alcohol being served. Music too loud especially late afternoon. Sign should say no kids at swim up bar. Staff was fantastic. Great getaway!

Exceptional service, sub-par amenities
We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights with family for our vacation and had a mixed experience. Check-in was smooth, we were welcomed with drinks, our luggage was brought to the room, and the beautiful lobby made a great first impression. The staff genuinely made us feel cared for throughout our stay. They do offer tours and upgrades during check-in, but the presentation was helpful and low-pressure. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a letdown. The room was otherwise clean, but it smelled musty, the bathroom walls had what appeared to be fecal marks, and I later noticed mold on a decorative pillow. These details were disappointing and unexpected. Food was hit or miss. We enjoyed the Carnival buffet for breakfast and steak night, but most other options were mediocre, including the Barefoot Grill, which leaned heavily toward fried, typical American food. We were also disappointed that Tamarindo and the Asian restaurant were closed on multiple nights without any notice. On the positive side, the poolside service was great, and Oliver at the Carnival buffet was especially wonderful! We also appreciated the late checkout and the staff arranging a taxi for us. Overall, we felt well taken care of by the staff, but the cleanliness issues and limited restaurant availability were unexpected bumps in an otherwise enjoyable family stay. With better attention to room cleanliness and clearer communication about restaurant closures, the experience could have been much better.

Oct 21, 2026Stay away! Not worth a dollar!
Please do not visit this dreams resort! We have been to dozens and have been UVC members for 13 years and have never had a worse experience! Do not travel here! Staff is of course wonderful but the management/ownership is awful! Never have we been treated so bad, had soooo many restaurants closed or had such horrible pillows! I love dreams resorts but this is at best what was before a NOW but since they removed that brand it should be a Sunscape. Most nights there was one restaurant open with a very small buffet. Some restaurants were not open once during our week stay. We did not receive an upgrade as an impression black member so if you are a UVC member just stay away and the resort was maybe half full. Even at half full there were days we had to fight for pool chairs. It's very small with limited seating around the pools. Pillows were hard as a rock and could not wait to leave to have a pillow that did not hurt to sleep on. Stay away! Old, rundown, poorly managed/owned resort!

An Amazing Experience at Dreams Puerto Vallarta!
What an incredible experience! Our stay at Dreams Puerto Vallarta was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Everything about our visit made this vacation truly special. The atmosphere was beautiful, the hospitality was outstanding, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was how welcoming and friendly everyone was. It's the little things that make a vacation memorable, and this place certainly delivered. We had such a wonderful time relaxing, enjoying ourselves, and making unforgettable memories. It's not often that a vacation leaves you wishing you could stay just a few more days, but this one definitely did! A huge thank you to everyone at Dreams for making our trip so special. We left with great memories and big smiles. Highly recommend! We can't wait to come back!
