Great first week
We are here at El Cid for two weeks through RCI. We are on the 7th floor and have a studio room. We walk to Centro almost daily and back and put on about 10km a day. Great swimming area and snorkeling right in front of resort. Nice views from balcony.

Awful. Incredibly Dissappointed in everything.
What a scam. We booked our stay for our timeshare and the experience from the beginning was awful. We were told this was an all inclusive resort when we booked it (the website says it as well) but once we checked in and asked we were told it wasn't. That only El Cid Cieba members get all inclusive. We brought this up as an issue twice to the front desk/concierge and were told they can't and won't do anything about it. The hotel is more of a let down itself. The hotel you see pictured online is nothing like what you actually get. It's run down, dirty and filled with broken promises. Our first room was ground level with a shower that had a window that opened up into the hall way. Had someone open it from outside our room while I was in the shower. I asked to move rooms and they couldn't get us into another room until the next day with no regard to the concern of safety and comfortability. Finally got moved to another room on the 9th floor to only have the bathroom smell of mildew and sewage. Had to ask for the cleaners to come back. They did a good job but realized after that the ceiling in the bathroom was dripping water from the toilet above us. The ceiling was soft to the touch. They had someone "fix" it but it didn't solve any issues. All in all, the hotel stay was a complete disaster. Pool? Sucked. Beach? Non existent. Food? Below Sub par. Would never stay here again. Let alone any other El Cid de la Cieba affiliates and will actively go out of my way to tell others the same. Spent most of our time and money elsewhere unfortunately. Cozumel is a beautiful island but PLEASE don't bother booking your stay here. For the love of God, just don't. *** UPDATE*** It just keeps getting better, before we checked out we decided to pop our heads up into the ceiling part in which the leak was coming from since our friend is a handyman type guy and knows a thing or two about fixing things. Want to know how they "fixed" the leak? They laid down a towel... The smell that permeated from that open space was FOUL. I can't believe we even continued to stay in that room. What a extreme health hazard. Room # 1933. These generic responses from the google business manager clearly are crap because nothing is being done. I would love for a chance to speak to someone higher up in management but I can't get anyone to return a call or email.

Home for the holidays
From the moment we arrive until the time we leave, we become part of the LaCeiba Family. We look forward to celebrating our 13 Christmas with our LaCeiba family again next year!

El Cid La Ceiba Cozumel
My brother and law spent a week at El Cid La Ceiba Cozumel. The staff were very friendly and polite. Collectively the staff make a great team; individually many of the staff should probably be offered more training. The infrastructure is great, however there are some minor improvements that should be made like drainage for rain off the back of the restaurant, and a safer access point to the open water. The food was fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and the AC worked. There are lots of amenities close by but it’s a couple kilometres from downtown so there’s hardly any noise at night. It’s close to the marina and scuba diving lessons are offered at the resort so it’s very convenient for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Under construction, off season, hard to evaluate
This was our second El Cid Location and I felt like it was not as high quality. Overall there wasn't a problem with the grounds or the staff, but the policy of only giving a one way airport shuttle unless you sit for a timeshare pitch isn't alright with me. At the time I visited the construction in the resort was literally on all sides of my room. I was the only functional room in the wing for my floor. We had to literally walk through work areas sometimes, and they worked sometimes at NIGHT. I am withholding general judgment, but this was how it went with us. Also, they were unable to change dollars to pesos most of the times we checked, and their rate was subpar.
