Much more than a hotel on Estanco del Aguardiente
El Claustro became a go to place for lunch in Cartagena. It is a nice and airy combination of a cafe, hotel, art gallery with a few events every week. Sandwiches, wraps and panini are delicious and I recommend the limonada con hierbabuena - tasty and full of greens. Service is relaxed but friendly.

Wonderful Hotel!!
We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is just gorgeous and had the charm we were looking for in Cartagena. Everything is within walking distance. The staff was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond the call of duty to help us and make us comfortable. The property is exquisite with a gorgeous chapel and beautiful gardens. There are art galleries and a music school so you can hear people practicing their instruments. There is a little cafe downstairs where you can get a coffee or a beer and relax in the garden Often there are concerts but the highlight was a beautiful wedding that took place on the lower floor. There is an upstairs terrace that is like your own private balcony where you can sit outside and relax and you can see the water and listen to the birds and just enjoy being in Cartagena. We thought El Claustro and Cartagena were magical.

Great Location
This place is nicely located in the historical center. There is a cafe in the garden area. The room s are small though and very basic. I liked the roof top which is good for relaxing and also very nice to have let the air in your room which you need it in Cartagena. Again the building and the location is the best. Cleaning ladies are very kind and nice but i think it is too expansive for the small rooms . I stayed there two times for a long duration. My only problem is the concierge .They seem to be not happy to have customers. Except one person who was working there was not nice. I am nice ,easy going person so i did not complain. One person who was working there night time was very abusive and rude. H e did not wanna help or di anything I asked for . However the location is perfect and very serene .Beatuful building.

not good
The place and location are nice but you can't call this a hotel room. There's no place at all to put luggages, no chair and only a very very small bed. The shower and toilet are nearly as large as the room with the bed. They have 2 larger rooms and if you are very lucky they put you in one of those but you have to pay a supplement which is completely crazy. Never again!
