  Unforgettable 9-night honeymoon – outstanding staff, amazing food, and a brilliant atmosphere

  We stayed at El Dorado Maroma for 9 nights for our honeymoon and had the most incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, the resort felt special – beautiful surroundings, a relaxing vibe, and most importantly, genuinely warm and attentive staff who consistently went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Food & drink: The food was a real highlight and we were impressed with the variety and quality across the resort. Our favourite breakfast spot was Lima Limón – we went back again and again. A huge thank you to Angel and Bertin, who looked after us so well and made every visit feel extra special. We also loved dining at Papitos and I can’t recommend it enough – the tequila flambéed shrimp is a must-try, and the surf and turf molcajete was also really good. The taqueria was sensational (honestly, don’t miss it). In truth, we enjoyed everything we ate across the restaurants. The only one we didn’t try was Palafitos, purely because it’s an additional charge and not included in the all-inclusive package we booked through TUI. Tequila tasting at Papitos: One of our favourite experiences was the tequila tasting hosted by Augustin, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made it genuinely interesting and fun. It came with a fantastic charcuterie pairing, and we especially loved the crystallised tequila – it was our favourite. Highly recommend doing this if you get the chance. Spa experience: I also had a 50-minute wellness treatment at Naay Spa, which was absolutely amazing. The spa itself is very fancy and feels like a real treat. I also had an hour to use the hydrotherapy pools, sauna, and steam room. Yes, it’s an additional charge to use the facilities and have a treatment, but it was 100% worth it for the experience and relaxation. Entertainment & atmosphere: There was live entertainment most nights, and we really enjoyed it. A special shout-out to the entertainment team: Mafer, Jerik, Mauricio, Osvaldo, Alex, and DJ Cris – they brought so much energy and helped create such a fun atmosphere around the resort. We also attended the Mexican fiesta night on Thursday, which was a real highlight of our trip – the different musical acts from around Mexico were fantastic, the atmosphere was incredible, and the food and drinks were brilliant. Service that made the trip: We also want to mention Karen at the swing bar by the pool, who mixed incredible cocktails, and Manuel and Armando, the beach butlers, who were absolutely amazing and made our beach days effortless and relaxing. Room: We stayed in room 541. The room was slightly dated inside, but the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The only downside was that the balcony door was slightly damaged and there was no handle on the inside, which made it a little inconvenient but still usable. Overall, we had the most amazing honeymoon, and that was truly thanks to the hardworking, courteous staff who made us feel so welcome every single day. Everyone was friendly, happy to help, and created such a warm, memorable experience for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend El Dorado Maroma enough – we would love to return.

  Had a great week at Maroma. The daily lunch pop-ups were very memorable experiences. Do not miss out on the Taco stand. Had a lot of fun with the entertainment team Mauricio, Jerik, DJ Chris, Mafer and Alex from foam party to dance lessons, silent party, kite flying and nightly entertainment

  The best part were truly the people. I would feel so fortunate to vacation here again.

  My husband and I stayed at this resort for two weeks during our honeymoon, and the experience was truly amazing. From start to finish, we had a wonderful time. While the resort itself was beautiful and well-maintained, it was the people—the incredible staff—that truly made our trip unforgettable. There were so many fun activities within the resort that we enjoyed, but what made them special were the people running them. Jerik, Mauricio, and Osvaldo were absolutely phenomenal. They made every activity engaging, fun, and memorable. They kept things lively, made us feel welcome, and were always extremely attentive to our needs. There was never a dull moment. Arturo and Carlos at Papitos provided outstanding service as well. They consistently went above and beyond, always ensuring we were well taken care of. Marisolita, our maid, was also wonderful—very attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Overall, our stay was incredible. The resort was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the hospitality was exceptional. We feel so grateful for everyone who went out of their way to make our honeymoon so special, and we would feel incredibly lucky to vacation here again. The only negative aspect of our trip was the consistent pressure to upgrade or pay extra for certain services. While “no” was always respected, the repeated offers became a bit tiring over time. Despite that small drawback, this resort gave us an unforgettable honeymoon, and we’re very thankful for the amazing people who made it so special.

  Unforgettable Stay with an Incredible Staff at El Dorado Maroma

  We had an incredible stay at Hotel El Dorado Maroma. The staff was absolutely amazing, always quick to help and genuinely eager to please. The drinks were fantastic, and Rene the bartender truly stood out. He was knowledgeable, fun to be around, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The entertainment staff felt more like friends than employees. Osvaldo, Jerik, Mauricio, Mafer, Alex, and DJ Chris kept the days fun and lively. There was never a dull moment. Don’t ever lose these guys. Truly amazing people who made our stay unforgettable. We cannot wait to come back! - Nathan

  El Dorado Maroma - Palafitos

  Upon arrival, everyone at the resort says 'Welcome Home, and Jerik, Osvaldo, Mafer, Mauricio, Alex, & DJ Chris make you feel like part of the family. For all activities from kayaking, beach volleyball, water aerobics, and dance lessons - they brought the enthusiasm that made you want to join in, were friendly and remembered faces as you walked about, and brought the energy to make it all so fun! Osvaldo was hilarious during water aerobics and have us more of a workout than I think anyone expected. Jerik broke down the most basic steps for Latin dancing that my husband was able to catch on to! Nothing dragged on and it was all timed perfectly. I don't know how they do it everyday, but the team was all great!! The Bartenders - ALL also fantastic! Again, they make you feel like family! Rene, Karen, Carlos, Leonardo, Diego, and Daniel work with all requests, joke with you, give you hugs when it's your last day, and make you want to come back. The Servers - our meal services were good and two servers made it exceptional during our time. Francisco at the Caribbean Grill; he joined in effortlessly with our laughter, poked some fun himself at our crew and made the meal memorable to celebrate an anniversary with us! Luis at Mío was THE BEST. He was our quietest server, but read the table perfectly - he was on top of water refills everytime, made two great additional suggestions for dinner that we wouldn't have thought to try otherwise, and had the most genuine face. Room - We stayed at the Palafitos. Our room was North facing (towards the beach/resort), second from the end (towards the catamarans). Unfortunately, we were unable to have direct line of sight for sunrise and sunset. We are here during January and each morning was pretty chilly on our patio with no direct sunlight. We did use our hotel robes though for warmth, which worked out. Directly West facing rooms had THE BEST sunset views (stunning!) and directly East facing rooms had THE BEST sunrise views. We had a sunrise breakfast at the Palafitos Bar & Grill to watch the sunrise and it was perfect. However, we could also see perfectly each balcony/patio for those facing the sunrise. During breakfast, it was so cool getting to watch the pelicans soar in front of the sun as we sipped coffee. I recommend bringing a reliable phone charger because our outlets (and our friends that also stayed on the resort) did not charge well or at all. But that's an easy fix! LOVED our turndown service as well. It was so nice having the room cleaned and/or straightened up twice a day - made you feel extra pampered! Bertha took great care❤️ The Butlers - Liz & Fernanda were on it! They created a WhatsApp chat for easier communication. This was a first for us, but it also made the communication clear as could be! Use your butler if you have one!! Room service & drinks took a while to get. We ordered room service for an evening "snack" 3 times. 1 of the 3 times it was here in 25 minutes (great!), the rest took anywhere from 40 - 60 minutes. However, had we communicated through our butler the timelines, that could have made it quicker. We ordered cocktails once through room service and it took almost 2 hours. I mentioned it to our butler, and they said next time to order drinks through them and they'd ensure it's much quicker. Ordering room service breakfast was hit and miss with how long it took. Most mornings was leisurely between 25 and 35 minutes, and was perfect. One morning took an hour and twenty minutes, which we ended up cancelling because we needed to get going. Again, this could have been avoided had we used our butler. We did place a breakfast order an evening before with through our butler for a scheduled time the next morning, which was the way to go! We should've done that EVERY TIME for breakfast on our patio because it was smooth and easy. They also provided recommendations to ensure we could take advantage of excursions without any hiccups. I didn't want to get to the excursion place super early for the free jet skis excursion the morning of because I was tired, but so glad our butler strongly recommended we did because it was full before that afternoon. They even organized a ride for us to make it as painless as possible. The Excursions - if you want a little adrenaline rush, do the jet skis!! So. Much. Fun! We only did what was included, so the fifteen minutes passed quick, but it was perfect! You CANNOT drink beforehand, so plan accordingly because the folks in charge are closely monitoring and will turn you away. We thought about paying for an hour another day, but thought it may feel too long and we wanted to day drink. We also did the catamaran with our friends and our was a blast! We a THREE sea turtles and three sting rays! The first sea turtle was so big! It swam so close to me that I was afraid I'd bump it was my fin, but it swam unbothered passed and through the rest of the snorkelers without a care! Same with the first string ray too! That was a little scary, but you don't bother it - it won't bother you. This excursion or butler coordinated a ride to pick us up and had towels in hand for us, which was great because we didn't bring any.
