Wonderful stay.
Consistently wonderful staff! This is what most sets this resort apart. Genuine, skilled, creative & trying to do anything to assist - even if outside their specific job description. Spectacular, clean beach with powder sand. Excellent food & food choices. Highlights included room service French Fries, guacamole & desserts, Lima Limon fish filet lunch, as well as marina outside charcoal bbq - included for us as a surprise - but you need to ask for your ticket morning-of. Rooms were wonderfully clean & well maintained. Swim out room was great - especially in afternoons when sun hit. Concierge Elizabeth was skillful, non-intrusive and helped arrange for subsidized, massage & tequila tasting. Drinks kept coming. I leaned heavily into mezcal & tequila but got to experience one of Felipe’s peanut butter shots & I understand why they are famous! (Think subtly alcoholic peanut butter chocolate milkshake). Super Bowl party was a great experience. Guests were uniformly happy, helpful & relaxed. Thanks to all in this group who helped us anticipate and prepare. Tips were never prompted but always gratefully & sincerely acknowledged. Many fellow Canadians were visiting for the first time like us. 🇲🇽🇨🇦❤️ I anticipate this new snowbird destination will be part of our, future travel plans and also part of those we met.

A Gem in the Mayan Riviera
We have been visiting Exotic properties in Mexico since the early 2000’s. This was our first time at Maroma, and I’m pretty sure it won’t be our last. Maroma is an incredible property for anyone who truly loves the beach. This beautiful stretch of floury soft white sand rivals the best beaches in the world. What’s so special about Maroma is that it’s nestled in a relatively undeveloped expanse. This is partly thanks to the Maroma Beach Club next door to the hotel, which is also operated by Groupo Lomas. Hotel guests can take advantage of facilities and tours. We enjoyed both the catamaran snorkelling tour, and the camel rides. Yes, that’s right: genuine Mexican camels. Maroma is a medium-sized property which means it never takes too much walking to get anywhere. Yet despite the smaller size, there are a number of restaurants all the way from an authentic Taqueria, to the Palafitos exclusive restaurant which requires a surcharge. We tried them all, along with room service, and never had a bad meal. Of course, one of the things that makes this property a favourite for guests is the staff. Many have been working there for years, and have become familiar faces. Mr. Augustin, who orchestrated both a wine pairing dinner and a curated tequila tasting, is a well-known veteran. But even the young entertainment staff like Mafer, Mauricio and Osvaldo are quickly making friends. As Exotic members we enjoyed a number of additional services. Private check-in with Carlos at the Exotic lobby was a breeze. We also had a private butler team including butler Eli, whose decade-plus experience at the hotel was obvious in his exceptional performance. All of our arrangements went smoothly throughout the week’s stay, including dinner and spa reservations, as well as special requests and room amenities. On the beach, we were well-served by Armando, Manuel and Marco who were always ready to help with beach umbrellas or a fresh towel. It is also worth mentioning that the Naay spa is very well-equipped and contemporary with excellent service. The couples massage is highly recommended, as is the hydrotherapy. All-in-all it was a great vacation and we are strongly considering joining the ranks of the many “repeaters” who have recognised Maroma as a gem in the Mayan Riviera.

Beautiful and relaxing
We had such a great stay at Dorado Maroma. The resort is beautiful, calm, and exactly what you want for a relaxing getaway. The weather was a little chilly while we were there, but that’s obviously out of their control and didn’t take away from the experience. The service is really what stood out. Big shout-out to “El Doctor” Rigo for taking such great care of us at the pool bar (try the green maroma). The tequila tasting with Augustine was a lot of fun and super informative. Daniel and Luciano at the restaurant were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always made us feel welcome. We also had incredible massages with Blanca and Maricela—so relaxing and definitely a highlight. And Isidrio was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. Lastly - Superbowl party on the beach? Yes please! Overall, a wonderful stay with great people, great service, and a beautiful setting. We’d absolutely come back!
