I was at El Dorado Maroma over the holidays in Dec 2024 and it was amazing. From the food, beaches, live music, amenities and staff we had the best time. Using the kayaks and the more inclusive activities was great. All the staff were lovely and attentive. The entertainment and beach team especially Oswaldo, Marco, Kevin and Gustavo were great. The decorations and events for Christmas Day and NYE were so fun. Definitely hope to go back.

Amazing resort with wonderful staff
Our experience at El Dorado Maroma was beyond amazing. The rooms, food, resort atmosphere & staff made it a stay we will never forget. The beach view and beach was breathtaking. The daily activities and nightly entertainment was wonderful. Marco, Gustavo & Alex made Aqua Fit at the main pool fun everyday. Kevin planned the best night entertainment. The Mexican Fiesta on Thursday night was amazing. The bartenders Leo & Diego were great. Carlos the waiter made the experience fun. They knew us by name by the 2nd day. Great resort! We will be back! Relaxing Escape with Exceptional Staff
My husband and I stayed at El Dorado Maroma for five nights in early January. It was our first all-inclusive resort experience, and we left thoroughly impressed! We chose EDM for its small size and adults-only atmosphere, and it delivered. The 30+ crowd made for a relaxed vibe, and the resort never felt crowded. There was always plenty of space at the beach, pools, and restaurants. The staff truly made the trip unforgettable. Gustavo guided us on a kayaking and snorkeling adventure to an underwater cenote and brought energy to the foam party with his amazing radio voice. Alex and Osvaldo made a Spanish lesson hilariously entertaining, while bartenders Leo, Diego, and Filipe patiently encouraged my Spanish. Miguel at the beach was always on hand with drinks and towels, and Marco, Chris, and Kevin were equally attentive and helpful. We took the new cenote excursion, which I highly recommend! It includes swimming in an underground cenote, exploring a dry cenote, and visiting an animal sanctuary. A tip: double-check the departure time in person to avoid last-minute surprises. Bring a towel, a change of clothes, and snacks, as there’s no food or drinks provided, and it spans lunch. Our room in Villa 3, with an infinity pool, was lovely but required climbing three flights of stairs—a potential inconvenience for some. Unfortunately, ongoing maintenance around the villa made access tricky at times. It would’ve been helpful if the resort avoided booking rooms near scheduled work. While the food was excellent, meal service was slow, which got tiresome. A quicker breakfast option would have been appreciated to balance the day. Spending up to four hours in restaurants daily felt excessive. Overall, EDM exceeded our expectations with its tranquil setting, exceptional staff, and memorable experiences. We’d gladly return!

Wonderful Resort!
We have been to the Eo Dorado Maroma 5 or 6 times. Our favorite resort! We were celebrating my 70 birthday! First, the service was top notch. Kind and friendly resort employees. At Lima Lemon the chefs,Fidel and Juanita provided delicious dishes. Mine was the tortilla soup and my husband's was the tuna dish. Alberto,Armon, Angel,Carlos, and Felipe were topnotch waiters! Loved talking with them. Mio was our favorite restaurant. Dorado and Eduardo were so kind and excellent service there. The Minestroni, prosciutto salad, and spinach shrimp pasta was delicious! And our favorite bar was right beside the beach. Diego and Leobardo were a treat. Our Lomas driver to the airport, Lucio,was even wonderful. Kevin,planned wonderful nightly entertainment! Wonderful variety of music and Mexican festival. The only negative remarks about our vacation is we were celebrating my 70th birthday and my husband requested a birthday cake with Jonathan, who is with Exotic Travelers, since we are members. He said he would take care of it. No problem! No Cake was presented and the servers knew nothing about it. 😑 The room amenities were lacking as well. We have always had small bottles of lotion, a small package of Qtips, and hand soap for the sink area. There were none. Our shower wasn't cleaned while we were there. We will be returning and January is the perfect time to go. Beach is beautiful and temperature is perfect!

Absolutely wonderful is every way!
I am thrilled to write this review! This is a small resort with extremely personal service. Everyone has a concierge looking after their every need. For example, we had a room facing the pool (where the action is) and we prefer a quieter spot to relax on the terrace. Javier, who is above and beyond in every way, arranged for us to move to a beautiful, bigger room the same day. When you walk around the beautiful lush grounds you are greeted by friendly staff who will ask you questions showing that they know who you are. And Javier checked in with us daily just to be sure we were happy. Alex, the activities director is wonderful! The resort is clean and very well maintained. The beach is by far the most beautiful we’ve ever stayed at. Soft white sand, calm warm water, chairs with sun or shade. The food is fabulous. Not what you would expect at an all inclusive. We were told that the owner set out to have a gourmet resort and every restaurant is privately owned and run. Across from the gym is a hydrotherapy room with jacuzzis that make you feel like you’ve booked a stay at a spa. In addition to the on site restaurants there is an all day buffet at the marina next door which is included and had better pizza that we can find in NYC. There is also a fancy restaurant called Palafitos where you can pay to dine. It felt special but the food was no better than what was served at the included restaurants. This is an adults only resort. It seemed to be almost all couples. While there are several bars and music every night, it is not a part place. It’s a place to be comfortable and relax in the best possible place with most wonderful staff and delicious food. Reviews are important. It’s why we booked El Dorado Maroma. And it’s why I’m writing this rave review!
