  Sunsets not to be missed

  Fourth time we have been here, from the Director to the reception manager, Irene to all the staff in the restaurant etc, the Elix is fabulous, the staff can’t do enough for you, if you’re missing something you only have to ask it’s lovely thank you

  Slightly Disappointed

  We stayed at Elix Marbella with Jet2 Indulgent escapes as a three generation family of 5. The private transfer was with another family. Once off the main road the roads are very twisty with lots of hairpin bends up and down through the hills. When we arrived at Elix we were seated in reception, gave in our passports and paid the €150 per room tourist tax. We were given a drink (cucumber drink for the 11 year old!!) while we waited for our rooms to be ready. I think all of the rooms have a sea view. The views are stunning. Ours was a deluxe double and was very spacious. There was a bottle of red wine, water and three green apples. The minibar had Fanta, Coke, soda water, 2 beers, a small bottle of white wine, a miniature ouzo, packet of nuts and a cereal bar. The minibar had a notice saying it was not suitable for food. We understood it would be restocked one a week but ours wasn’t. There is a kettle, nespresso coffee machine with four capsules, milk, sugar and tea bags. One of the sockets had 2 usb slots. The bathroom had a walk in shower with body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers. The toilet was separate. There was soap and body lotion dispensers along with a shower hat, sewing kit, cotton buds etc. A separate hairdryer is provided. A walk in wardrobe had plenty of shelves and hangers, slippers, robes and a safe. The bed was comfortable with a lightweight duvet. The air conditioning was a little annoying clicking on and off constantly during the night. Our son and family had a one bedroom family suite so that our grandson could have his own room. This room came with extras - a bag for the beach, soft toy, spirit miniatures in the mini bar, evening chocolates with a lady checking for any requirements, phone call checking on their stay and a leaving gift. Their room had toothbrushes and a razor although only 2 glasses for the three of them. They also had their minibar restocked part way through the holiday. There is an app that allows you to order food, drinks and ice cream at the beach and by the pool. There is also other information about the hotel. We had no access to this prior to arrival and our à la carte bookings were made for us. The buffet restaurant was excellent with a wide selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We cancelled two of our à la carte reservations as we preferred the choice of food in the buffet for us and our grandson. There is a different theme every night. The restaurant by the pool was outside and very warm. They had no Parmesan for my risotto and the waiter spilled a glass of orange juice down the back of my white dress with little help to clear it up. The Pearl restaurant was also warm with no air conditioning. The staff did not have a lot of knowledge of the menu especially the vegetarian options. The dine out restaurant, Fishbone, was in a lovely bay. There was a special menu for the hotel. The restaurant was busy as it was a Saturday night. They were expecting two parties of 3 and 2 not a family of 5 which didn’t help. The portions were very generous. You only have two hours at the restaurant due to the hotel transfer. The pool is only open from 10am until 6pm and is not for serious swimmers as the shallow end is very shallow and it is very busy with children. The very small children’s pool is for toddlers but we didn’t see it being used. There were plenty of very comfortable sun beds. The girls are excellent at bringing food and drinks. The lifeguard was not always very evident. The beach is not sand but a very fine gravel. Wooden walkways make moving around easier. There are plenty of comfortable beds and we only had to wait a short time on one day to be found beds. The beach staff are excellent. The funicular down to the beach saves legs but there are still over 20 steps to get down to the beach. There is a bar, toilets, changing room and showers at the beach along with a place for the kids club. The beach drops off quite quickly but the water is clear and you can see fish. The sea is calmest in the morning. It was sometimes a challenge to get back up the gravel slope out of the water. We took advantage of using kayaks and the water-sports staff were very friendly and helpful. We considered hiring a car but the roads were not the best with lots of parked cars and limited parking at the hotel. One couple drove to Parga but couldn’t find anywhere to park. Jet2 do not offer any trips from here or car hire from the hotel. I thought the hotel offered a transfer to Parga but I couldn’t find any information on the app. We did enquire at the desk about boat trips and they were going to email us information but we never received anything. We did hire a boat for 7 hours from the water sports at the beach and that was very enjoyable. The hotel is quite remote and there is nothing that you can walk to other than perhaps another hotel off the beach. The basketball, table tennis and tennis courts were at the top of the hotel complex in full sun with no shade so we found it too hot to play. There was an extra cost to play in the evening but we played cards then. There was no Padel or volleyball. The kids club didn’t seem very busy with 6 children at most. It was staffed by young English girls. We didn’t see anything for teenagers. There was an empty room that would have been great for table tennis, pool table etc. Our 11 year old grandson was quite disappointed with what was available. I was disappointed as on Facebook Marbella there seemed to be lots of things going on but these all seem to be at the hotels on Corfu rather than at Elix. I think that this is hotel is best suited to families with young children. It might be alright for couples out of school holiday time. We would not return. There were three families on the return private transfer. The larger vehicle was not as comfortable. Our sons room number on the transfer information was incorrect and another family had to phone before being allowed on the vehicle. The airport is small but there are two duty frees and food available. The gate is outside covered in parasols. Our flight home was on an unbranded plane with a mixed crew.

  Best Family Holidays in Elix Marbella

  A unique experience. Very pleased especially because we were with small children. The location was fantastic, the view of the sea, the sunset, the forest, the air. It was the ideal place for a relaxing vacation. The service was perfect, the staff was very friendly with the customers and especially the Guest Relation Team headed by Spyridoula✨ who was always there for everything we needed. The dedication to children's food especially and the cleanliness 10/10. This place is ideal for your family vacation! The conditions were super and especially the rooms with private pools for people who want absolute tranquility! You must visit this place😍

  Like Paradise!

  This is the most amazing place ever. The beach and pool are idyllic. The water is crystal turquoise. The rooms are cool luxurious and charming The food is absolutely delicious. But the most amazing aspect is the staff. All the staff from the staff at the beach at housekeeping and in the main hotel are so lovely and welcoming and make you feel so special. The guest relations lady Spyro is an absolute star. Already looking to see when I can return here.

  Great Experience Staying and Eat

  What a great experience, everything was good, but the food was the really high light of our vacation. We have been in every restaurant in the hotel, the chef and his crew was really amazing. It was tasty experience you have to try it ! We will come back for sure!!!
