Horrible service at the lobby bar
This is my tenth visit to Puerto Rico and one of my favorite vacation spots. Full disclosure, I’m not staying nor have I ever stayed at the Embassy Suites but I love the Casino there. My husband and I walked over for some drinks and play time. Upon arrival, we went to the lobby bar to grab a beer before entering the casino. There were literally 5 people at the bar and maybe 3 tables occupied. We stood for 15 minutes waiting to be acknowledged. During that time the party to our right left as they could not get another round of drinks. The bartender disappeared for about 10 minutes and returned with food for a patron. We were completely ignored as was everyone else at the bar. I was beside myself at the lack of service. When we FINALLY got waited on we took our beers and headed to the casino where luckily the level of service greatly improved. The dealers were nice and the staff attentive. The table service was excellent and very quickly after sitting at a table the waitress came by and continued to do so for the few hours we were there. Had a great time and glad I stayed as I was so put off by the poor bar service I almost walked out. I get “island time” but this was beyond ridiculous and insulting. Next time I will skip the bar all together and head right to the tables.

Our at the Embassy Suites
We genuinely loved our time here. It was brief since we were headed out for a cruise, but stayed 2 nights before the cruise. We had 3 children and 2 adults. We stayed in a suite, which was enough to accommodate us all. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. The adults loved the laundry, breakfast and restaurants. There were parties happening in the ballrooms both nights, which we loved. We were super close to the beach. They saved chairs, umbrellas and set everything up for us. People would come around selling drinks and wares. They weren't too pushy. The beach access was perfect. The beach was clean, water was crystal clear, super close to the hotel, and we just loved it. There was close access to shopping, a cvs, grocery stores and old San Juan. They also had tour options that you could purchase out of the hotel. We didnt go into the casino but enjoyed the bar food and restaurant close by. We plan to visit again.

Great stay good vibes.
This trip was a gift for my grand daughter sweet 16. We all had a wonderful time. The room was clean and staff was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The restaurant near casino had excellent service , food was great. I want to stay here again but I am hesitant after reading comments about being charged for smoking .i am a smoker and I followed the rules and went to the designated smoke area to smoke.I cannot understand why people are being charged for smoking in a room when they have not done so. That’s really scary.

Noisy nights
Loud canned lobby music all night Great hotel, would have given it 5 starts, except Elevator type music plays all night and is easily audible on the 8th floor. Calls to front desk to turn it down were useless. Note: this review being written at 2:45 am.

Don’t stay here
Don’t stay here. My husband and I who are non smokers were falsely charged with a smoking violation during our stay. We spoke with the Manager Sam Cuevas who dismissed us and basically told us the system has been tested. We explained that it is all over the Internet and he still did not want to listen. He basically was calling me a liar. I saw someone posted today that the same thing happened to them as well. With so many people complaining you would think that they would reverse the charge. I strongly encourage those who have had this violation against him to write the following folks as I will be: Hilton Highgate- company that oversees this property and Sam Cuevas boss Puerto Rico’s Tourism Company Jose Carlos Aponte Dalmau-mayor of Carolina Puerto Rico Jennifer Gonzales- Colon- Governor of Puerto Rico
