Just not impressed, at all.
Not even a 4*, sadly. This resort has potential to be something better. Let me get the not so great stuff out first: no decaffeinated coffee (unless you want instant) in the coffee shop. Public restrooms had doors that wouldn't close or locks that did not work. Vendors are either very persistent or busy lounging on the resort lounge chairs. Sometimes chatting with the security. Drivers of the "little vans" can be dangerous, speeding along. Some of the landscaping is overgrown and blocks views. Saw someone nearly get hit by a van as she went to step on the pathway. Beach "grill" is a very limited buffet. Food would be brought out, wrapped in plastic wrap around 10 and restaurant would open at 11. Food was overcooked, cold and soggy. Reservations are a most. Can only be made one day in advance for next day only. The service in all 3 a la cartes was good. Food was inconsistent. Mexican we had 2xs once excellent and once not good at all. Same meal ordered. Husband had some beef dish and he said it had the strangest "texture" and gross. Food, everywhere, was average at best. Beverages: juices tasted like fake sugar. Frozen drinks were syrupy and not frozen. Unless you wanted to order a pina colada or coco loco at $4USD or $6 with rum. Water in bottles in room only. Otherwise you get a cup full. Resort was jammed with locals or those from cruise ship on day pass. Cruise ship clients got beach wait services and were able to bring food out of the grill. Food was replenished and fresher at the beach on the day the cruise ship day pass people were there. These people were "treated" better than those guests on site. When waiting at reception, it seemed at that all the associates were happy to chat up the locals checking in. We waited and finally, had to chase someone down to answer a question. The locals obviously got preference and better service than other guests. We were in adults only room block. Came back to the pool for an afternoon swim and the pool was drained. No explanation. We paid extra (2 couples in 2 separate rooms)for the adults only area. The other pools were loud and had games or loud music and kids. Not what we booked or paid for. When the pool became available, the bottom is so rough you need to walk carefully. The filter/skimmer was not working. We pulled leaves out of the water. Then there was the handfuls of fake hair. Locals arrived with their large, loud speakers drinking and smoking in the pool late into the night. No quiet swim (or any swim because the pool was crowded). The noise bounced off the walls and could be hear around the other side of the buildings. The room we had was very dark, even with all the lights on. The toilet seat did not fit the toilet. Patio door was difficult to open and squeaked loudly when pushed. There was frequently the sewer smell in the bathroom. It was coming out of the shower drain. Shower didn't drain, sink stoppers didn't close, lighted makeup mirror didn't light, ceiling did leak in the bathroom several times. Just dripping. The dispensers for shampoo and body wash are very difficult to squeeze. The positives: some wait staff was excellent. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The AC worked well. Housekeeping was good. Overall, not impressed.

Nice time
We got the deluxe room, which we were happy about because it was a great size for the family. The resort is a nice small size, does not feel too big to get anywhere. The beach is amazing, no rocks. Just prepare yourself with extra cash for the various things that are sold on the beach if you’re somebody to purchase things. The food was good, we really enjoyed the Mexican and Italian restaurant. Prepare yourself for lots of locals, as they visit the resort. Many of the local families stay at pool. There was only one large pool. The entertainment is mediocre and not the reason I would return. Would like to shout out to ye service staff, they were alway so amazing and friendly. Daniel Ferreros is a waiter there and our kids would look for him just to give him a high five.

WHAT THEY SELL, IS NOT WHAT THEY GIVE
Reception is a mess. Guest service does not solve anything/bad service. Elevator was out of service. I paid for an adult room and they assigned me one in the family area, kids screaming next door. Bathroom wasnt very clean. Bars runs out of basic things most of the time (lemon, seltzer water) id you dont drink alcohol you will only have artificial juices option. Only one of the restaurants 1/5 is open and reservation closes immediately since they only operate one restaurant at the time. Only good thing is the beach and the buffet staff. Not Recommended, they dont honor what they sell.

Glad to be back home.
We were 6 ladies from Canada. It was my 3rd time and I won't be back. From the moment we arrived, we had to fight to obtain what we asked for in an email 2 weeks prior. The AC is leaking in the room. My clothes were all wet. The maintenance guy fix it but it started leaking the next morning. When the Dominican people arrived for the weekend, they trash the place. The pool was dirty and full of debris, they were loud and didn't care at all for the tourists. They cut lines in bar and restaurant they didn't respect our personal space at the beach. They appropriated the resort for themselves. No animation at the beach compare to the other times. The last time, my 2nd time, we had champagne every nights without asking. We had a bottle of champagne in our 3 rooms. This time we had to ask at the restaurant every night and it took about 15 minutes to received it. Nothing in the room even after telling that it was my 3rd time. Very disappointing holiday. One lady in our group was sick, when she was a little better but weak, she asked for a plate to be sent to her room and they said NO, it is not included in your package. Think twice before going. On a positive note, the resort is small, so easy for someone with mobility issues. The beach is beautiful, no rocks at the bottom. The restaurant staff are friendly specially Augustin Paredes at the buffet.
