  Very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location for walking around. The room was comfortable as well.

  Charming boutique hotel with wonderful staff

  We had a wonderful stay at The Equus! The hotel has so much character and a charming boutique feel that makes it stand out from the larger hotels in Waikiki. The front desk staff were especially kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We really appreciated the warm hospitality and how welcoming everyone made us feel. Thank you to the whole team for taking such good care of us these past few days. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!

  My husband and I came to Hawaii as a last minute trip to meet some family. We decided the last part of our trip we wanted to stay close to the marina and the Equus popped up as one of the last family owned hotels. The staff was absolutely amazing. Rene made us feel like family and when it came to us checking out late the following day, Rene and the staff went aboveand beyond. We decided to hangout at the bar before exploring the area for the evening and they have such delicious drinks I enjoyed seeing how close knit the staff is and enjoyed the live music with everyone. Im hoping our next stay will allow us enough time to hit the North Shore to see the horses. Hawaii reminded me so much of the hospitality in Alaska and it made being away from my family at home a little bit easier. Thank you so much to the staff and we cant wait to have you apart of our next family vacation.

  The best stay in Waikiki

  I had an absolutely amazing stay at the Equus! From the moment I arrived, the experience was wonderful. The hotel is perfectly located between the shops and the beach, making it so easy and convenient to enjoy everything Waikiki has to offer. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and welcoming, which made coming back after a day of exploring such a pleasure. But what really made my stay stand out was the incredible staff. Renè and Ben were absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my stay. I also want to give a special shout-out to the maintenance gentleman (I unfortunately didn’t catch his name). When I needed help with my AC, he was incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind. It’s those little moments of great service that really make a hotel stay memorable. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great location, spotless and comfortable rooms, and truly wonderful staff. The Equus Hotel exceeded my expectations, and I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend! 🌺🌴☀️

  Miracle Story... Thanks to Puka... Saved the vacation!

  The Equus Hotel felt good from the moment we booked it. The parking attendant, the bartender, the cleaning staff, and the front desk manager were all filled with genuine aloha. Our special needs were addressed without hesitation. The rooms were clean, and the attention to detail was impeccable. The horsey theme was fun and very much enjoyed by my partner, a horse woman. MIRACLE: Just after checking out, we went to have lunch before flying back home. I reached into my pocket to get my credit card. My wallet was missing! Given that we were on a deadline to catch the plane, timing was critical. No boarding pass, no Real ID. No money. This could have cost me hundreds of dollars. We frantically searched through every bag and every pocket of the rental car, at least 5-6 times. We then called The Equus to see if anyone had seen it or turned it in. Nothing yet. Then... after sufficient fear and self-humiliation, the phone rang. It was Puka, on staff at The Equus. His shift had ended, and he had gone home before I discovered the loss. Puka said he had found the wallet and wanted to return it. We met him at his home in a few minutes and retrieved the wallet. I begged him, and begged him to accept a substantial reward for his honesty and integrity. He repeatedly refused the reward. We will be staying at the Equus on our next visit to Honolulu.
