Aug 29, 2026Beautiful beachfront resort
Quaint resort on the shores of Orient Bay. The room was spacious and clean. The grounds were well maintained and we were just steps away from the beautiful beach. Many restaurants within walking distance. The small pool just outside the back door was very convenient. Everyone we encountered was so incredibly nice and friendly!! We would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful stay after 20 year absence
can only endorse all the positive reviews, While it is a dated facility it is special and wonderful. The European continental breakfast was standard and a reduced price was offered for savory additions, The pool was great for a recovery dip after the beach and under the stars. The Astrolabe restaurant was a treat for dinners, And of course it would be a sin not to mention all the staff. You cannot get such service at more expensive resorts. Cannot recommend more highly, Look forward to a return stay. The one suggestion we would make is rent a car. Always useful. And yes, the cats and feral donkeys were an added delight.Woderful stay

We Would Definitely Return to Esmeralda Resort
We loved our stay at Esmeralda Resort. The resort grounds are charming with the sound of the ocean nearby and the view of the volcanic hills in the background. The staff is friendly and helpful in making reservations or advising on island activities. We enjoyed the use of CoCo Beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas and great food at the restaurant and bar. We did not rent a car for our 5 night stay so being within walking distance to the Orient Village with it's great restaurants was a plus. Astrolab restaurant on site at the resort was our favorite.

We enjoyed our stay. All of our interactions with your staff members were always genuine and pleasant. We interacted with Morgan, Kevin and Asal (spelling?). We got the ocean view, room 468, which wasn’t the greatest view, but we did like where our room was situated. The housekeeping staff always did a nice job. Just a quick walk down the path to the beach was perfect. We are not fans of large resorts so this was perfect for us. Such a peaceful stay! Suggestions: have beach chairs/umbrellas available for customers so we don’t have to rely on beach bars. We had two negative experiences with Coco and then Bikini. I won’t get into that here as I know they are not your responsibility. Umbrellas at the pool would be great and a daily cleanup of the pool area too. The continental breakfast at Astrolabe was perfect, and we ordered salted breakfast a few times too. We had dinner there twice, once with live jazz singer and it was beyond delicious! We hope to return to St. Martin again and would definitely return to Esmeralda! Thank you for your hospitality.
