Absolutely Perfect.
It was late afternoon. I was reading by the pool. I glanced up to see one of the innkeepers gently arranging tropical flowers she told me she had just picked “up in the hills.” She took about 20 minutes in this endeavor, carefully measuring hight of each stem, and then placing each flower just so. She put the arrangement in a tall glass vase, and placed it on a windowsill by the pool and then she left. That’s it - a tiny detail that says everything about Estate Lindholm. Perched on a hillside overlooking Cruz Bay, Estate Lindholm stands as the ideal inn. The location, the facilities, and innkeepers who care all combine to make this THE place to stay for adults in St. John. Yes, this is not for kiddies. There are plenty of other places on the island for families to stay. Location. Cruz Bay is the commerce and transportation hub on St. John. Estate Lindholm is a mile north up the hill and a world away. Close to everything but without the crowds, noise, traffic and throngs of people, this inn is ideal for a quiet, relaxing or romantic getaway. Facilities. The rooms and common areas are crisp, clean, and well maintained. Several separate buildings house about 20 or so rooms each room with a private balcony complete with an unobstructed view of the ocean and sunset. No detail is too small. Coffee makers, and top notch towels compliment the nice bed and furnishings. There are beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler for taking on outings to Trunk Bay or any of the other national park beaches nearby. We stayed in the Congo room. Quite and well appointed, it was ideal and we highly recommend it The grounds are lovely. The staff takes good care of the gardens and one of the innkeepers maintains a banana grove on the grounds of which he is justifiably proud. The cleaning staff takes care to clean the rooms every day (so many places these days don’t do that). Both cleaning staff and grounds keepers were friendly and welcoming. Included with the room is a nice breakfast with fresh fruit and breads. The pool is lovely. Just right. There was never a problem finding a parking spot. Innkeepers. Location great; facilities great. But what makes this place truly special is Tim and his sister Savannah. Genuinely friendly (not that paid-for phoniness that plague so many vacation destinations), these 3rd generation owners care. They truly do. They make recommendations on hikes, beaches, and places to see that fit the visitor and what works for the visitor’s desire, age, available time, and so on. For us, the recommendations made our 4 days perfect. Tim and Savannah care about the buildings and the land and the rooms and the breakfast and mostly they care about their guests, and making their time at Estate Lindholm the best it can possibly be. And they succeed.

Breathtaking views with amazing owners and staff
Do not wait, just book! The views were spectacular from every part of the property. Tim, Savannah and all the staff were amazing. It felt like home with the attention to detail. We had beautiful flowers in our room and adorning the walkways inside shells, an ice machine, a cooler, beach chairs, and beach towels to use. Breakfast every morning and even stocked with alcoholic beverages to purchase at reasonable price. What a gem. We stayed in the Hawksnest room. The roof itself is a bit older, but it didn't matter because the views were so great. I would try out one of the newer rooms next stay but still loved it because of the views.

Week in paradise!
Stayed in the Salomon room overlooking Cruz Bay. We stayed the last week of July. As their season was coming to a close soon, there were few guests. It was quiet and serene. The view from our balcony was indescribable. The views we had of the bay and the sunset are the images on travel brochures. Savannah, the owners daughter was our host. She was at breakfast each day to check in and ask if we needed any help planning our day. She was such a delight. The breakfast was perfect for us. The menu consisted of bagels, fresh coffee, yogurt and fruit, and great conversations with Savannah. The AC would freeze you out, Wi-Fi worked well, and plenty of hot water. We had free use of beach chairs, cooler, and the ice machine. This made for a perfect week.

Beautiful
We loved our stay here! What makes this place unique is the beautiful location and the owner, Brion and his daughter, Savannah. It was so nice chatting with them in the morning before our day started. They offered great suggestions and helped us navigate some quiet beach areas. It’s a beautiful property and has a wonderful history! We can’t wait to come back!

No Better Place on St. John
No Better Place on St. John. This was our 3rd trip to St. John and our 2nd stay at Estate Lindholm. Brion and his staff are phenomenal, friendly and an absolute wealth of local knowledge (and secluded beaches not on the maps!) Rooms are well appointed, with A/C and overlooking Cruz Bay. A short distance from Cruz Bay and close to beaches. Estate Lindholm provides beach chairs, soft sided coolers and gear (all complimentary) and has an ice machine for drinks and sandwiches. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else and are already planning our 2026 visit.
