It was such a nice experience going with Vega and Hernan to go see sea creatures. We loved it and they provided excellent service.

A truly fantastic family vacation!
We love the Explorean Cozumel. This was our second trip. We all want to go back again. The property is beautiful. Having access to both the amenities at the Explorean and Fiesta Americana was a perfect combination. When we wanted excitement, we went to Fiesta Americana. When we were ready to relax, we returned to the Explorean. We spent time every day at the Explorean pool. It was so relaxing. We loved each of the excursions offered by the Explorean. Our favorites were the guided snorkeling, including El Cielo and Dzul Ha. We tried all of the restaurants and never had a bad meal. We traveled as a family (age range of 12 to 60), and everyone enjoyed it. While all of the above made it great, what made it truly fantastic is the staff at the Explorean. Everyone is focused on delivering the best customer service. They are so friendly and helpful, from the bellman to the cleaning staff to the bartenders and waiters to the guides. They were always there with a genuine smile and ready to help. I want to give particular note to Vega and Jacciel (guides), Cristell (concierge), Eduardo (bellman), Luis (Fiesta Americana coffee bar), and, at the Explorean bar and restaurant, Luis, Edwin (both of them), and Alejandro.

Amazing Trip!
We had an amazing experience with our guides Armando and Jasiel. We went to Colombia Bajo, El Cielo, and El Cielito. We spotted a manta ray, a small shark, lots of fish, and starfish. It’s our second time coming back to The Explorean, and they were our guides last time as well. We can’t thank them enough!

Best experience
We spent the day at ElCielo, ElCielito and Colombian Corals with Joseil and Armando, and they took incredible care of us from start to finish. Between the ceviche, the fresh sandwiches and that insane turquoise water, the whole tour already felt perfect… then came the wildlife. We swam alongside sharks, manta rays, turtles and schools of colorful fish that looked straight out of a movie. It ended up being an unforgettable experience, not just because of the places we visited, but because the entire crew made it amazing. Thank you!

Nov 28, 2025Excellent for novice snorkelers / first timers in Cozumel
We just checked out today, after a 5 day stay. We were a couple with a 5 year old and this was our first time in Cozumel. Highlights: for novice snorkelers: this provided excellent snorkeling just off the shore and is at walking distance from nearby spots like Dzul Ha, Playa Ulvas, and Chankanaab. 3 of the 4 excursion allowed for snorkeling opportunities. In addition to the excursions by Explorean you also have access to activities on Fiesta Americana, which includes snorkeling lessons. We could even bring our 5 year old along on one of the snorkeling excursions, holding on to a buoy used by the very patient guide. The resort also offers you life jackets if you want to snorkel on your own, there is a life guard and clearly marked safe areas. Resort: Explorean side has a very nice tropical forest feel and you can access the larger pool side area on the FA side where activities happen through the day Room: Spacious enough for a king size bed and a side bed for the child. You will notice some solidly built furniture. Food: 6 restaurants to choose from. We like vegetarian and preferred the Asian and Italian one for dinner. Most of the items would rank 6-6.5/10. We are far from disappointed, just didn’t find many wow options The coffee is consistently average. Excursions: Pre-allocated for full days that you are here. I hear that the boat ride and buggy ride are the best ones, but they were scheduled on weekends and did not match our stay dates. While all other excursions are good, it does feel disappointing that we missed the best ones. Staff and Service: Top Notch 10/10 everyone The concierge do try to push attending a breakfast meeting in lieu of spa passes / tours. We declined. At this price point we would want to return.
