Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui's resort activities include an award-winning Hawaiian Cultural Program and an Inspire Your Energy Fitness and Wellness Program. The Hawaiian Canoe Experience teaches guests Hawaiian traditions while offering a fun adventure. Participants learn the basics of paddling, as well as the history of the canoe and its importance to Hawaiian heritage. Used by native Hawaiians to cross the rough channels between the islands, the outrigger canoe was built out of koa and other hard native woods. Not only an instrument of fishing and sustenance gathering, the outrigger became the long distance means by which Hawaiians, and the greater Polynesian society projected both settlements and conquests. The Hawaiian Canoe Experience fills up quickly and advanced reservations are required.

Spent the weekend at the beautiful kealani! The property was BEAUTIFUL! The rooms were big and spacious and very clean! We really enjoyed the pools and yummy food!! We absolutely loved the staff there!! Kira at the top family pool was absolutely amazing!!! She was so kind to us and her service was 10/10. She was giving us a lot of recommendations on where to eat & shop which helped us create a better plan for our trip. She was so nice and we would love to come back just to see her! We also absolutely loved Vince in the Makana Market. She was creating such a memorable moment for my twins as they got banana bread and icecream. One of my twins are autistic and kept asking to go talk to her when we departing the hotel. She was very personal and kind to us and made everything feel so welcoming and warming. She definitely made us feel like family! We can’t wait to see them again and look forward to spending our time again at Kealani. We only got to spend one night but we look forward to doing yearly trips and being able to connect with Vince, and Kira again! Thank you Kealani for the amazing stay!!!

Places really nice. Wailea Beach is awesome as well. It's close to shopping breakfast and coffee options which is awesome as well. Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours was a fun thing to do. Great snorkeling at the creator five minutes from the resort. Everything's very pricey of course but have your Jeep ready to cruise the coast or go to Hana. Beautiful place will be back!

in case anyone needs a more updated review - Context - growing up, I stayed at the Kea Lani from when I was three years old with my family, and went back twice a year, every year until I was 17, where we had our last trip before my dad passed. I say that all because it’s a VERY special place to me and I am willing to overlook a lot due to the sentimental nature of it all. Just completed a six night stay, and I won’t be returning. They mixed up our reservation and when we arrived they said that we were a day early and made it feel like it was our fault. “lucky we have a villa still available” Spoiler alert: it was their fault. Get a call next morning at 9am from Mailee the villa manager - basically said sorry, “please come find me later” - first off, you can come find me, not the other way around. Second, service recovery was 200.00 credit, and a line about how our TA had messed up communication - i had to ask who dropped the ball for her to give me a straight answer - which is that the fairmont staff got it wrong Got a card the next day…saying sorry, etc - and then noticed that it was with compliments of some TA that i’d never heard of or worked with. They credited the wrong TA for our trip - so I had to email them and make sure my wonderful TA actually got the credit. Breakfast…lined up to get seated, and its just a zoo…servers are nice, but nothing is polished. Villa is great, but groceries were delivered a day late, no sorry, nothing. Eventually Nicola was able to comp our 4 days of the Cabana bookings, which is another debacle where we picked a certain cabana only to find that they gave it to someone else the first day, so we had to switch to another. everything here is just downhill from what it used to be. Beach service sucks. Service is reactive, nothing proactive, and the staff are aloof at times (all the while trying) but just not really all “there” This is not a five star resort, its a three star at best masquerading as a five star. Its packed and its only saving grace is the location and grounds. Food choice is limited and terrible. Kid had a great time, so that makes things a bit easier. Will be going next door to the FS like we should have done to begin with.

Best stay ever!
I'm a little late giving this review but didn't want to miss the opportunity to review one of the best stays I've ever had. This place is amazing. The room, the lobby, the grounds, everything about it. We stayed in one of the floors looking out over the ocean and it was an awesome view, worth every penny. The extra space in the rooms is also a great thing to have. My wife and I had our teenage son with us, and the fold out couch was exactly what we needed. The pool was also amazing. From the staff, the restaurants, the beach, I cannot imagine a more perfect stay in one most beautiful ares of the island. Top notch!
