Another wonderful stay! We will be back.

We spent 8 nights at Fairmont Mayakoba in a Beachfront Casita in mid January. It was our 2nd visit and we loved it as much this year as last. Check-in and Check-out was very smooth. All the staff were very friendly through our stay. The room was spacious with direct access to the beach. Special features included a huge bathroom with an outdoor shower and a walk in closet. We requested the same room as we had last year and the hotel accommodated our ask. The resort is very large but it’s easy to get around on the little golf carts. It is absolutely gorgeous throughout. Breakfast at Brisas was a perfect way to start the day. Overlooking the beach, the view was incredible. The menu has a lot of options, the food was delicious and well presented. The French toast, avocado toast and frittata were standout options . Special thanks to Alejandro, Felipe, Eduardo, Alexis and Arturo for the friendly and attentive service. One improvement we would recommend would be to provide a free morning coffee/ tea station for those staying at the beach. We loved having a coffee on the beach in the morning and going for breakfast later. We did end up ordering lattes from the restaurant but a self serve coffee station would have been extra nice. We often spent our mornings on the beach and enjoyed the excellent service from Luis, Jorge and Erick. The chaises were comfortable and towels were plentiful! The beach had tasty cocktails and a great menu for lunch or snacks. The ice cream sandwich is a must. Our afternoons were usually spent at the adult pool. The infinity pool overlooks the lagoon and is an incredibly peaceful place to relax, enjoy cocktails and some Mexican food. We also took the complimentary boat cruise around the resort. It is a wonderful way to see the whole gorgeous resort, including turkeys and crocodiles. We tried all of the restaurants at the resort last year so this year we went to our favourites more than once. They were all delicious but a few stood out for us. La Laguna was a favourite. The Mexican food was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful (tables overlook the lagoon and the turtles!). Make sure to have the guacamole made tableside. Edy was our server both nights. He took excellent care of us. Ask for him if you can! Hix, the lobby bar serves very fresh sushi and rolls. Get a table along the edge to enjoy the view of the resort. The salmon tostadas and crispy tuna really stood out. Thanks to Leonardo for the great service. Gaia has wonderful seafood and a lovely view of the beach. Make sure to have the chocolate dessert, it’s incredible. Don’t forget to grab ice cream or a frappe at the coffee shop. Our butlers, Irene and Sofia did an excellent job ensuring we had everything we needed. We were grateful for their friendly and attentive service. They arranged our dinners and the boat cruise, as well as answered any questions we had. And sometimes just popped by to check in. Irene was also a great help on departure day adjusting our pickup and checkout when our flight was delayed. Thank you both for everything. Overall the resort is one of our all time favourites. We love Fairmont resorts and have stayed at many including resorts in Hawaii, Barbados and Bermuda. We will definitely be back.

Fairmont Mayakoba with four and two year old...

We spent a week at the Fairmont Mayakoba with our two little ones, ages two and four, and absolutely loved it. The property is serene, the service was personable and the food was exceptional. Huge shout out to the team at Fuego, on the beach. We dined at Fuego on two occasions and both times were impressed with the caliber of the service (attentive, personable, engaged) and the quality of the food (exceptional presentation, outstanding flavours). I’m likely missing a few folks, but a massive thanks to the team at Fuego... Joan, Lalo, Charly, Ángel, Rodrigo, José, and Gonzalo, with Karen as Hostess and Nick as the Waiter Assistant. Thank you Dmitri for making it all happen. Exceptional experience, highly recommended.

    Fantastic butler

While the resort is lovely, my review is about our butler Jhovany. We were only there two nights, but when I now look back, I think of Jhovany and the attention he paid leading up to and during our stay to ensure we had a wonderful time. He is truly an asset to the resort and any guests fortunate enough to be assigned to him. He was attentive in all ways with seeing to dinner and activity reservations and that we had what we needed in the room, and when a planned power outage threatened to interfere with an important internet meeting, he made sure we were able to have wifi access at another location. On our departure day, he changed his schedule to see us off. He made us feel well taken care of. Besides being so helpful, he’s simply a delightful person. Our thanks again.
